What most likely sets Kane's Plight apart from most other games you have played is that there is no fighting whatsoever. Instead the purpose of the game is to explore the 4 towns, receive quests, and make choices that affect those quests. A large emphasis is placed on the writing and having interesting and unique, but logical, quests. Examples include a talking tree that wants to take over a town, raccoons that are being a nuisance, a teddy bear village that could use your help, and a talking snowman with a headache. Completing quests will give you experience. Attain enough and you will level up. Every time you level up you will get 5 skill points with which you can distribute to your 4 skills: survivability, mechanics, beast language, and climbing. You use these skills to complete quests and complete them in different ways. For each quest you complete you also get good or evil points depending on how you completed that quest. Certain characters will only talk to you if those stats are high enough.
