"Friends, or an once in a lifetime chance to make your dreams come true."
The game starts with Kuku, an enthusiastic travelling merchant whose dream has always been to be able to settle down and open his own shop. To achieve this goal, he must have at least one million Mels as a required start-up capital.
One day, he was told by his trusted old friend Klaine that the people in Naradir were getting all crazy about a certain type of apple called Karim, and that he happened to have a close accquaintance that runs a Karim apple farm, so he could buy them in bulk from this person with a lower price and assured quality. Believing that this was a golden opportunity for him to create a huge profit, Kuku decided to employ all his money on this deal. And Klaine successfully convinced Kuku to entrust the money and the negotiation with the farm owner to him.
Klaine went to the farm and gathered all nearly-rotten Karim apples for an obviously super low price, sent the apples back to Kuku, and got all the money remained without him knowing. And Kuku, being an inexperienced merchant when it comes to business with fruits, took the apples without thinking things through twice. It was also because he trusted Klaine, and the Karim apples always have a misleadingly fresh appearance even when they're nearly rotten.
Then, by the time he reached Naradir, he found out that almost his whole cart of Karim apples had already been rotten, and that he had been betrayed, or rather fooled, by someone whom he had always considered a good friend since they were high school students. And Klaine, of course, had already disappeared without leaving a single trace back.
Having only a little money and some nearly rotten Karim apples left after selling his own cart, Kuku broke down and started gambling, and lost everything soon after. Right when he thought everything was over for him, he met a girl named Yami, who was also an old friend of him from high school. And, Yami brought him a rather shocking news: Nessiah, another good old friend of them two in high school, was being wanted by the Empire. And the prize was exactly A MILLION MELS.
Events in Stella Sidus take place in a temperate nation named Aurelia, located on the west-southern continent of Arum. Having little to none at all exploitable resources, the whole country relies on trading business, importation/exportation. Aurelia is a rather under-developed country with very low technology, the average level of the people's intellect is rather low, which apparently means that Aurelian are highly religious, sometimes even to the extent of superstition. Due to the lack of exploitable resources and the inefficient economic system, Aurelians are mostly poor and only able to feed themselves just enough. The only vehicles for travelling throughout Aurelia are horse-ridden wagons, which can only be afforded by a small number of affluent families, and carts, mostly used by business people. The rest must travel on foot.
Description: an enthusiastic travelling merchant whose dream has always been to be able to settle down and open his own shop. Due to his over-optimistic nature, he usually suffers betrayal.
Description: a magic apprentice from Eimir, the only magic academy there is in Aurelia. She is thought to have split personalities, one is a gentle and kind personality, while the other one is that of a mercilessly cruel witch when she is upset at something. Also, Yami tends to be very forgetful at times.
