These are my parallax tiles, which are meant for parallax use and are not arranged into a tileset form. If you're looking for tilesets of my work, Celianna's Tileset can be found here. If you do not know what parallaxing means, then please check out this.

Might as well update with some new stuff.

This is an add-on to my school tiles, except these are more modern styled. I say 'more' because I know a modern school should be all metal like, but sue me, I love wood! I'm sure Emmych is gonna take that the wrong way.

This is very good pixel art, I particularly like the carpets. Will they become available commercially at some point?

That's the entire reason why I don't make them sci-fi stuff bores me to death. It just doesn't look cute.

The VX/Ace tiles style is painted via brushes, hence it's not traditional pixel-by-pixel method. The scale is small, but the approach to creating the painted tiles is very different from creating pixel art.

Kind of like there's a huge difference between sketching/drawing in pencil and painting on canvas. It's an art thing.

Love the new tiles! I think schools should be more wood too. :3

@Indinera: well, pixel-art is made pixel per pixel, hence the name. Because of that, you get this nice clean effect. Great for spriting small objects.

The VX and VX Ace art style, is not made pixel per pixel. It is anti-aliased, and has been 'brushed' in there, so to speak. They're basically two different art styles.

@Luna: yup, wood is love. School is love too. Someone needs to make VX Ace school out of them.

HOLY SHIT. If you made a Western set, I might have to cave and start working on a Western project. I've wanted to forever but there just aren't enough tiles to make it Westerny enough. XD

Ah yes, I might someday make a western set. They have these adorable wooden things, like carriages, banks, saloons, they're all lovely.

Anyways, I have another update today. I realized I was missing a birch tree in my tree set.

I never wanted to learn parallax mapping before seeing these and the steampunk set. Now I'm tempted. Very tempted.

Western would be amazing. I'm not planning on doing a whole Western game, but I wanted a Western feel to a town in a game (rather than the more common Arabian Nights feel- I've been watching so much Gunsmoke lately that it just seems strange to do something so un-Dodge-like), so the thought of Western accoutrements is fabulous.
