[Aphex]

The Sentinel rule over Calden, a country that is considered a dream to live in by people all over the world, although it is not everything it seems on the inside. Monsters roaming the land, potential civil war and a puppet for a leader, join Srii as he learns the secrets of Calden.

Story

Calden is a place of wonder and discovery, of peace and harmony, of desire. Most importantly, of illusion.

Srii is an assured young man from Kellan who not so long ago turned of age. His desire was to explore the world and he vowed he would begin as soon as he could. He wished to see everything there is to see. From the Shalrao Temple, the Northernmost point of the world, to the Bangellian Deeps down south. His first stop, Calden. It could be said it's the metropolis of the world. Not many people get to travel to other countries and even less get to go to Calden, it was an amazing opportunity that greeted Srii and he embraced it.

Calden looks alot different on the inside. Civil war is on the brink of breaking out, peace was never going to be easy to maintain in a land where Humans, Orcs and Elves live amongst one another. The monsters that roam the wilds had never been mentioned in the stories Srii was told of Celdan as a boy, nor had any of the other truths of the place. Then again, why would they? Bad words never seem to be spoken of Celdan outside of it and everything seems to be well kept hidden.

It can't be as perfect as people say, can it?

Characters

Srii, 18, Male (Warrior) -

Travelling to Calden from Kellan ready to explore the world, Srii is a confident and headstrong man. He knows the basics in swordplay, he had no choice but to learn to fight when he was young incase he ever encountered monsters. Always willing to help others, usually without complaint and at times regardless of more pressing matters. Despite being so young and so far from home in a new and unusual place he always appears calm, having faith his mother is looking over him.


Zerin, ??, Male (Mage) -

Some would say he is unkind, some would say he is truthful. Either way, Zerin is a solitary man who will always say it how it is. After dabbling in magic and liking it, he proceeded to study the magical arts. Zerin is a promising Mage who has great potential but does not want the power of magic to consume him. His desire to go to Tulla to further study magic leads to him joining Srii in his travels. Like Srii, Zerin is not from Calden, but from Nothar, a small country on the other side of the world.


Aysen, 22, Female (Priest) -

A girl wise beyond her years, a person without an ounce of evil in her heart. She wishes that she could live in a land of peace and will do whatever she can to make that happen. Considered a 'divine' by the religious fanatics from her hometown, they believe her power to heal is unlike any other and she can cure the worlds ills. Although she wants to be able to do this, it is overbearing for such claims to be placed on the shoulders of a young girl, she thinks it is a bit much and this humble attitude is one of her main traits.


Randar, 28, Male (Thief) -

An outgoing thief whose personality would be different to what you'd expect considering his 'profession' and his shady appearance. He tries his best to live with no bounds, with no respect for authority and free will to do what he wants. With plenty of stories to tell it would be easy to guess Randar has been all over Calden. Where he's from is unknown as he never seems to spend much time in one place thanks to his choice of life. The only time he'll have an extended stay somewhere is in the unlikely event he's jailed.


Cael, 114, Male (Archer) -

A young Elf who lived a sheltered life amongst his fellow Elves in the forest. His fathers arrogant opinion of the other races have caused problems and left the village without aid from other sources, they provide for themselves although they struggle to do so at times. When Cael has a chance to leave the village and see everything he has missed out on, he takes it. His father does not approve of this but Cael believes unity between the trinity is essential survival, quite the contrast to his fathers opinion that the Elves belong at the helm of the world as they used to be.

Features
Some parallaxed maps, the game is not fully parallaxed to avoid a huge filesize, but all the maps are nice.
Unique story (as far as I know!).
Ring menu and Yanfly's Ace Battle Engine are just two of the great scripts used.
Great looking in-game story developments.
Sidequests all over the place to complete during or after the main story.

Demo

The demo gives you access to the start of the game, and offers roughly 30 minutes of gameplay. It's essentially the tutorial part of the game. There are two small sidequests, and the main story is kick-started. Critique is greatly appreciated, and if there are any unlikely issues with the demo please let me know about them so I can fix them ASAP.
