X( ugh.. neighbor guy keeps coming late at night to ask me for money, always with an excuse for why he needs it...
    1. PixelHeart
last time, he needed it to buy medicine for a wound on his foot... later, I thought it was odd how he was willing to walk blocks to my place to get it. But tonight, he said he needed gas money to give someone to take him to see his sis in the. :/

I haven't played the PC version, but on PS4 it is one of my favorite games. I just bought the expansion pack last week and been playing it non-stop.

They add a lot of free content through updates too.
In my opinion, it was worth the $60 I paid for it plus the $40 for the expansion.

It always scares me when a DM doesn't set up rules for "stat minimum/maximum" at character generation.

We play Pathfinder, which was built on 3.5 rules. We find it best to use the actual Point Buy System. It keeps stats from being too high and if someone has an 18 in a stat, you can guarantee they have a 7 in another.

    4. Tai_MT
I like the rolling for stats so that everyone doesn't play the same thing. Min/Max their two most important stats and dump any worthless to them. They might still try to min/max their most important stats, but, they aren't likely to be 18/16 without a massive stat dump somewhere else.

Then the global market needs to invent another way for 6 billion people to invest their money and get a decent return. For the last 30 years the only answer has been Wall Street. Within the last 3, we had interest rates rising, but now the trade war is forcing them down again. Still no alternatives.

@Golden Unicorn Gaming It will always go up in the long term. All I'm saying is that it has been going up too fast, and the market will correct itself. Nevertheless, in 20 years, the SP 500 will be higher than it is today.

Just to give you an idea, the SP 500 grew to about 400% of its value in 10 years. The average annual return of the us stock market for 100 years is about 7-8% annually. So if you take 7.5% of growth for 10 years, you should have 206.1% of growth. Now compare that to 400% and you'll get what I mean.

Saw the dentist today. Turns out that I grind my teeth in my sleep, so I need a mouth guard made. Bloody anxiety and stress. :(

It's a good thing, your dentist suggested that. Many people don't know, that they grind their teeth when asleep and that leads to pain in the neck, the ears, the head... and usually to a marathon of checkups before they see a dentist about it. Stress is our worst enemy when we need to recover. Even when we sleep, our bodies can't rest.

Not sure if it's fair to put the blame on the player/viewer, saying they lack patience if they won't sit through a 20 minute intro. I'm more than happy to spend 3 hours watching a movie, because I expect to watch it. I expect to PLAY a game, not go for that long WITHOUT playing it.
      Sep 18, 2019 at 12:12 PM
    4. Shaz
I'd suggest considering doing away with it altogether. Why does the player need to know everything? Why can't they learn about it during the game? Why can't they make the wrong decision then learn why later, so next time they play they'll choose a different option?
      Sep 18, 2019 at 12:13 PM
    5. Shaz
Without knowing what you're doing to combat boredom, are you sure that by the time you get to those decision points, the player will actually remember the info dump you gave them at the start?

They're called a "Lark", and they're completely badass. It's the only game in the world where you can play as a transsexual Ewok Jester.

The Jester will play funny jokes on the enemies so hard they'll die. He's a bit hard to train, but he becomes OP at Lv 29 when he learns Cream Cake Prank. If you just keep using that move on the enemies, then the game's combat will be a total... cakewalk.

      I'll see myself out.

You know what? I've started to notice this about myself too. Never used to have a problem finishing games, but now a game has to really suck me in for me to complete it. I've dropped quite a few games because I just can't be bothered with them.

Way too many games these days overstay their welcome. Often by padding the content with busywork and other tropes of modern game design.

More often than not I stop playin games because they bore me to death after fifteen hours.

I usually see everything in a game after 10 ~ 30 hours. The lifetime of the game can be extended depends on how well it gives me freedom (at this point, I don't care about META, just screwing around trying to break the game). It can even be further extended if the game can be modded. Otherwise? I'm done.
