  • Does anyone else every feel like they were crazy or on something when they look back at an old project they haven't touched in years?

When I look back at my IGMC 2014 entry I often say "What was I thinking?".

Ha, I was actually looking at my 2014 IGMC entry when I posted this. I'm going through to see what I did and making various changes. Even if I don't release it at the very least for self satisfaction.

When I looked back at my game I finished in 2015, I thought "whose game is this?".
I hate when I find old threads I can provide better answers too. At least usually the OP hadn't been on recently.

What do you expert on? I just asking, it is so bored with learning code right now.

Unfortunately I'm not an expect in anything. I just browse through foreign RPG Maker forums as well and find impressive and obscure scripts. The only thing I'm remotely good at is using events and images to obscure my lack of scripting skills. Lol.

@Acetonide, when you go to the foreign RPG maker forums, you find something cool that would be interesting for me to see. I meant you are well versed with something because all of us have weaknesses on so-call making game. That is why a team is very important for making a successful game.
Found evidence of what I was looking for, I'm not crazy. Now I get to go through foreign RM Communities. ;-; I'm not crying! You're crying!

And what was it you were looking for?

I'm looking for a program and script poccil made for VX to allow for multiple tilesets. I have found an alternative in SwapXT but if I can avoid using that I'd prefer not use that if possible. I also wanted to find an old battle system someone made that recreated Worms in XP but I doubt I'd find that.
    Every VX Script I look at is dead and gone. ;-;

Sadly yes. And my computer died so I lost all my old archived scripts as well.

    Time for an upgrade, then?

Oh, I already own VXA and MV. It's just there are certain scripts and certain things I need VX for specifically. It's just VX itself (the editor) is lacking and I've gotten used tot he features in later versions and looking for scripts that gave the function to VX the scripts are gone now. For example using multiple tilesets.
I have a question but as far as I can tell it doesn't fit in any of the forums.. ._.''

If it's not game dev related, it goes in General Lounge. If it's game dev related, either support (if it's a support question), or general discussion. :)

So many great looking games from IGMC but I lack the motivation to download any of them. Why can't desire triumph over motivation?! D:

Why are you not motivated to download any? There are some good ones, and playing them will bring you pleasure o_o
Welp.. The thing I put together in a few hours with my brother is much better than what I spent days on alone. Dx
Starting to wonder if I should have found more people to help instead of just rewriting everything.
Hm.. I've come to realize when I work on an entire project alone I either hate the gameplay or the story/dialog.. It seems I suck at doing both at once. u.u''

Well no one is perfect at anything even if it's pretty bad know that you have done your best.
Just out of curiosity, am I the only person who would completely change the plot (and timeline of the world if it became a series) to make it easier to make graphics for a game?

I think he means something super badass happening like running through the streets as pandemonium occurs, people running around explosions and animations everywhere things just looking crazy.

When I come up with a plot, the world and story have a strong relationship. The environment shapes the characters as much as they change the environment (from actual landscape to politics, etc).. So if I were to say.. Try to make it set in a dystopian future where there us destroyed electronics and pollution everywhere it would require greater detail and work, especially as the idea involved recovering and reusing a lot of this 'garbage.' On the other hand, changing the idea so it...

...takes place in a better world (though not a Utopia, if it was perfect there'd be no conflict and no story) makes it easier. Imo it is easier to make graphics for things with order, rather than random and chaotic (such as piles of trash and electronics).
I'm feeling... Bleh.. So if you'll need me I'll be rummaging through caches of old blogs, forums, and other things (unfortunately many in languages foreign to me) looking for old lost scripts and such..
I'm ending up on the most ridiculous abandoned forums for RPG Maker (mostly in languages I don't understand) trying to find ancient scripts I'll probably never use. Dx
Hm.. So it's snowing out.. Has been for a few hours. Not too keen walking in this weather, so I'll be on hiatus for a bit I suppose.

It's snowing? Where I am, it's lukewarm outside, like about 70 degrees. It never snows here... well, except for that time in 2004, but other than that...
Alright, stay safe everyone.. Especially me. Stuck walking home in the dark, and for some reason the streetlights aren't on. =/

It's ridiculous how early it gets dark now. And so suddenly. Halloween night it was bright until around 7.30PM.. November 1st it got dark at 5PM and has since. u.u''

Nope, not for me. Been rainy and cloudy and when I do get sun it's only from the hours of 2PM to around 4PM. x]] Maybe some sunlight breaks through the clouds occasionally earlier though, so I guess I'll count that too. >.>; Oh well. *Wanders off*

You know.. I... I kinda lost my interest in living a long time ago. What sustains me is a lack of interest in dying.
Like a star that is balanced between the forces of gravity and outward pressure, I feel like the energy to produce that outward pressure is weakening. I feel like I should pull a Stardew Valley and revert to a more primitive lifestyle, away from others. :(
made more sprite for the Time passing game that I may or may not actually make. At least now I have a better idea how to make Rtp Walk sprites actually look wrinkly and old, since the Generator doesn't do that.
Well, now all of my Refreshable Events scripts also feature some brand new demos to let people see how easy it is to let the script handle the refreshing of a given set of events. All of this with just one specific script call per event!
Sorry Kitty...I'm practicing my harmonics. RIP your ears.
I noticed they now have a Gremlins cartoon. Nothing like striking when the iron is hot then trying to make a reboot from a movie made 34 years ago.
