  • Whoever decided that the 5th area of Xenoblade 3 had to be THAT big and be explored in the manner it does needs to be shot. My OCD cannot leave a tiny shard of the map hidden and those controls can go right on and f*** themselves. -.-

    Sorry, not sorry. First thing that came to mind when I looked at the enemy sprite was that rabbit flying across the screen attacking all of Arthur's men.... Such a great movie.

    @RuneKingThor This was actually the EnemyBook plugin that came with MV base materials, and I completely rewrote everything except for the enemy selection window and added in way more data and progressive info revealing based on kill count :D If you compare this screenshot to the default plugin its not really recognizable at this point.

    This was a product of me self-learning Javascript back when first picking up MV and I wanted more info in the plugin that what it originally had. I later ported this to MZ and refined the code to be much more efficient and streamlined while adding even more data to reveal. :D

    This week has been an amazing week!

    Been talking to @Kes a bit excessively I've finally gotten my mojo back to start work on my game again after 18 months of burn out. Since then I have finished porting the last 3 MV Plugins I needed (Including YEP Quest Journal >.< ) and even created my own TPBS/ATB bar plugin for MZ. :D

    (Gotta show these ATB bars off!)

    Been working on rewriting the Bestiary plugin I made to add more info to the mostly empty screen I had before. Added in info panels for Elements, Status resistances, and special drop items. This was all done in photoshop this evening, so tomorrow is going to be code-code-code. Also increased size of bottom description box a bit more.

    I want to work on my game but I am down to the part that takes the most time... mapping.

    I have the database complete, I have the entire story written, I have all my plugins created/edited/bug free... But I am only like 5% done with maps. (1/4)

    Returning to and starting to interact on the forums again is helping boost my morale a bit, but when I open RPG Maker I just sit there and stare at it and the bit of motivation I did muster flees faster than a Treasure Goblin. >.< (3/4)

    The worst part was the countless hours I spent self-porting all the MV plugins to MZ, creating a perfect looping HD version of the XP music tracks (and added extra stereo channels for better clarity), remaking my entire tileset over to work with the new 48x48 and not be blurry..... and then I just quit afterwards. I understand the feeling. But think about your finished game and how it will feel to play it and have others play it. Do a little each day.
    When everything the past week culminates in a big final way: Plumbing 100% stopped up for some reason and EVERY local plumber is booked until mid-next-week. This week has been terrible for my RPG Maker work, much less my sanity... and to make it worse my project was like 95% fully ported from MV-MV before this started. -_____-

    Good luck man! I really hope things go smoother soon for ya. I know how that is. Life is pretty rough these days for me also. (Not gonna get into the specifics here). Hang in there bro, life will get better soon. Well just gotta believe that at least. Stay strong fellow game maker! You got this!
    Ugh. Trying to figure out what changed in MZ to make MOGs battle transitions no longer work compared to MV. Anyone know if there has been a well documented list of changes from MV->MZ base code? Especially concerning Sprites and parent/child?

    @?????? this thirst has always been here, I'm just actually doing something about it this time around and learning more for myself. I ported 5 plugins from my project yesterday and I think part of my issue was being brain-fried by the end of the day so I was just no longer seeing the code layout properly... if I cant do it by this afternoon Ill probably ask for help with my addiction :p

    That moment when you're testing your game and realize that RPG Maker no longer has a stat cap of any kind so your HUD breaks...

    Line 2851 (unless my minor commenting changed it to be lower)
    Code:
    Game_BattlerBase.prototype.paramMax = function(/*paramId*/) {
        return Infinity;
    };

    I had enough space in my HUD for 999999/999999 HP in case I ever decided to change font or text size and I let my event keep running to boost stats to make sure it was updating properly and came back to 33 million HP about 13 million MP, and just barely 1 million of each normal stat and it was still going!

    And good riddance to that limit!

    To infinity... AND BEYOND!!
    Manually porting my YEP library from MV to MZ because... why not? Also, the VisuStella being encoded and protected doesn't allow for the FULL customization I was wanting/needed to fully port my game... so this is my current option besides attempting to crack the code. :p

    So far on the work? YEP Item Core, YEP Upgrade Slots, DreamX Random Prefix/Suffix... all working, but needs minor tweaks.

    @OcRam perhaps you should read point 3 and 4 in the plugin ToU?
    3. You may edit the source code to suit your needs, so long as you do not claim the source code belongs to you.
    4. You may NOT redistribute these plugins nor take code from this plugin to use as your own.

    You can edit it, but cannot steal any of it to create a new plugin from it.

    Which is what I was planning on doing when I mentioned the idea of cracking it (keeping it all for myself to edit as needed and not share), but at this point its a waste as porting all of Yanfly's MV plugins so far is a cakewalk. I see no need to even touch VisuStella anymore for any purposes as long as I can get the main YEP plugins finished.

    The original source I found it at was not from Iran, if you would do more searching there are many other entities throughout the older worlds cultures that go by Ahura Mazda, and the meaning for each culture is usually the same, as odd as that may seem.

    I see.

Sometimes I wonder if I feature creep... 225 magic spells is a lot lol.
Being hit with nostalgia for something that's gone is both a great thing and so sad.

But being a creative means having ideas for bringing stuff back to life, which can be frustrating and rewarding in it's own right.
