    Nintendo is just being old school "rigid values" Nintendont lol. them being petty never shocks me. tho I will say I'm surprised they're doing THIS much. as someone who doesn't have much Nintendo attachment, this is just weird to see play out. like how petty can they be at this point.

    @Finnuval, yes, I know a lot about that. Getting out of (metaphorical) closets is actually quite tricky though

    Oh I know. But once you are out you'll wonder what was so tricky about it. Such is the way of things I guess. It's one of those things where the hardest part and the easiest part are the same thing xD

    Moderators, you must have so much patience to be able to deal with everything. I mod in a server of sorts and today we just got a message, which, despite it's helpful constructive criticism, basically stated that all of the mods were jerks and that was the only reason our server was unlikeable.     I've seen some jerk mods on some subreddit pages and you guys are certainly not jerks! You make sure the rules are followed but you're not mean about it. It seems like you guys do a lot to support the community too. That's exactly how mods should be.

    You'll get some that just don't want to be told what to do, and when you do you'll all be called jerks. That's just life sadly.

    And yes, we try to not be jerks. As best as possible at least.

    Thanks for the compliments. We hold each other to the standard of acting professionally, and I think all of us are doing this because we genuinely want to be a positive impact on the community anyhow - so when there's disarray or we take some abuse from a member, I think those two things help whoever is dealing with the issue show a lot of patience.

    I have a friend who is going through some pretty hard things right now. They think that the only emotions that they should exhibit are hate and ruthlessness, and that any other emotion makes them weak. Another friend and I are trying to help this person, but we could use a little extra help. So, are there any inspirational quotes or, like, things along that line that you can share? Thanks.

    I would recommend having them look into mindfulness and stoicism. Note stoicism isn't what people assume it is, which is...what your friend is doing with his emotions. True stoicism isn't about bottling up emotions but in recognizing the effect emotions have on you in order to redirect that energy in more positive ways where possible, and seek healthy outlets for release where it isn't.

    Mindfulness meditation is a good start for learning about how your emotional drives are unconsciously influencing you and how to reinforce your own control over your emotional state rather than let it rule you, either through repression or exhibition, neither of which are generally healthy. It helped me when I was an angry emotionally repressed basketcase anyway.

    I like pumpkin but I have limits. No pumpkin flavored coffee - the only thing I like in my coffee is coffee and if I add anything to the coffee it's more coffee........ And since I don't add any creamers or sugar or anything like that to the coffee I have no use for pumpkin flavored stuff like that.....

    Pumpkin spice flavour is just the flavours of the spices commonly used to to spice pumpkin pie; usually cinnamon, nutmeg and ginger.

    It's just a creative challenge, like NaNoWriMo. In october you draw a picture in ink every day of the month, and there's a prompt list if you want to use one, but it's not required.

    I was going to explain but you guys did a pretty good job. I never do the Inktober challenge though. I just know I'm not going to have enough time, with job searching and all, plus I don't like drawing in ink.

    Yeah, a lot of people that get into game making, regardless of tool, think it will be easy. This is how we get so many awful shovelware titles - someone gives up and goes for quantity over quality.

    Making a good game is hard, and if you've been told otherwise, you've been lied to. Just remember, nothing worth doing is ever easy. Just keep at it.

    @zzmmorgan, that is pretty funny! Who knew a no-code solution would actually require coding? I wish that I could find that make game button, that would make my life so much easier! I mean, unless it isn't a quality game that gets made by the button!

Just beat the last of us 2 last night and starting jedi: fallen order right now, both use unreal engine & when I say i knew 80% of jedi's buttons right away because they were the same buttons as TLOU2 its ridiculous, even the same narrow hallway crawl and barely-made-it jump they do. Unreal Engine is just big budget RPG Maker the way they make games nearly identical at its core lol.

Can someone recommend some fun story-heavy RPGs to me? Coming up with good gameplay is a nightmare! I was thinking of making some gameplay platforming-based, but that doesn't work well in RPG form*. I also was thinking of removing battles, but that would be too much like OneShot. I don't even know how to make good puzzles!
