It has been a slow couple of weeks... but ever slowly I am getting into the new rhythm of having a second dog. Hopefully I will be able to return more attention to RPG Maker again. I have so much to do and the list is growing.
1. Complete the AMPS (Arcmagik's Party System) Common Event.
2. Submit Writing Samples that were supposed to be submitted a week ago.
3. Rework my Early Feedback and Project Recruitment threads (been on the backburner for a few weeks now).
4. Get back to work on Legion Saga MV
5. Start to learn Pixel Art now that I feel like I've reached a "reasonable" level of skill with mapping. (Still need to learn lighting / shadows though!)
Yesterday I was super excited about having time to work with RPG Maker then things started going astray. Now after 5 hours of overtime I can finally go home to take a nap... maybe then I'll be able to work on Legion Saga MV.
Finally the weekend which means let the infinite gameworks begin again (not really infinite but I was thinking of Fate/Zero Infinite Bladeworks for some reason). Now to just resist the urge to use a plugin to change my grid to 32 x 32 so I can use Mack sprites!
I had been away from RPG Maker for a full two weeks which is a week more than I planned but once I got my computer moved to a new room last night... BOOM the maker bug was still there. I was afraid I lost it. Worked on some more Legion Saga maps and went to work on a party changing event system... Stupid me and my big mouth! I need it for my game anyways so I may as well put pur work into it.
Added some screenshots to Twitter today and had a short conversation with the man behind the original Legion Saga on Twitter so I consider it a good morning! Now I am just packing and preparing things for the next week that I will be away.
I've become unhealthy obsessed with Mack Sprites... to the point that it sent me into a brief tailspin where I spent an evening gathering up all these mack sprites I could find as well as looking over VX Ace scripts... but I got myself under control and focused back to my MV project.
Trying to update certain habits of mine so here I am 6 hours into my day because I woke up at 5 a.m. however that did provide me with some opportunities to work on the intro to my Legion Saga MV demo some more before I had to get my son up for school. Yay progress!!
I actually did a considerable amount of work yesterday due to testing @[502Yanfly] grid-free doodads (see the maps thread). I finished the first room of Bargon Castle (like 100% complete) and Seimu too. 2 maps in one day!?! Thanks grid-free doodads!
Also really started playing around with Fonts and the message window... also courteous of Yanfly. I like it!
I am currently in awe at Yanfly's Grid-Free Doodads... making new Doodads from Tilesets are so easy. I've already converted some of Pandamaru's trees to Doodads and they work like a charm on Layer 5. This plugin is going to change the mapping game!
I mean... between my recruitment thread... my early game thread... making an avatar face in the generator... finding the Status updates... and now I actually put more to my profile... I feel like a real boy! (Pinocchio reference...)
It has been a slow RPG Maker week for me... and the trend will likely continue as I have a wedding to attend tomorrow... a possible photography job about 2 hours away on Sunday morning... then I pick up my son from his mother's house and the work week starts over again. My activity until after my wedding/honeymoon in October might start to die down... but fear not as I will return... None of you really know me so won't really be worried about this, but I like to pretend you do,. Don't take this away from me!
And that is my Status Update... I should have never found this thing.
-Terrax lightning should have another step for the flashlight, between up down left right.
-Also Online mv from Nelderson should emit the flashlight from the other player.
-Animation needed for killing the zombie...
Before adding it to #crypchania.
Working on a case. Get all the evidence to prosecute some bad guys.
But, the game development schedule delayed.
The moral of the story: No good deed goes unpunished... I guess...
Except that, nothing to see here.
just beat ff7 original for the first time since 2010. having played remake last year, I have a much better appreciation for the original oddly enough. I still like some of the character presentation in remake more, but the original's got a lot going for it.
