    I've finally crossed over.
    I'm going to learn javascript for real this time and I need you guys to hold me to it. If I don't know something more advanced than basic if/else conditionals by one month from now... you know... mock me relentlessly or something XD

    In my book, more pay is always worth putting up with the same crap. I like earning my $20 an hour in a job that has a starting pay of like $16. Same crap, different day, but at least I can come home with my new pay and spend it on all the free time stuff I want!

    Indeed. More pay for the same job is always better XD my new job is actually slightly easier than the last one and with better pay, so I'm for it. But I still encounter moments where one ashhole ruins my whole night and leaves me wondering what I'm doing with my life haha

    Ha ha, just have to figure out how to not let that get to you. Most of the time, those people aren't doing it to you personally. They're just angry or depressed or whatever and taking it out on you. Causing you problems to feel good about themselves. Sometimes, just knowing that helps deal with it.

    One week later: *Decides to implement about 200% more tactics than originally planned.*
    Another week later: *Decides to add in allies to battle and let you switch between them without using any of the default battle system or menu options at all because I'm a masochist.*

    99% of my questions have already been answered by the same five or so people, and I love them almost enough to send them love letters messages just to say thanks.

    So I guess this is a shout out to the people who have been sparing the rest of us headaches for years without asking for anything in return.

    Sometimes, I wonder if I should be sleeping instead of adding tiny pixel droplets of blood to a character sprite that's no bigger than my fingernail on screen...

    ...But then I watch in awe as RPG Maker turns my time and creativity into an actual playable game with the exact aesthetics I want it to have, and I ask myself "who would rather sleep than do what I'm doing right now?" XD

    You mean no sleep at all for five days a week, or less than two hours each night?
    Because I really, really suck at sleeping, but I do at least usually get a couple hours in. RPG Maker hasn't helped me with that since there's always more to do when you're making a game XD

    I love how I can look up a problem I'm having with my game, find a post from like six years ago that addresses the issue, and the solution provided still works in RPG Maker.
    It's times like those that my life feels really easy XD

    Exactly. This is a major advantage of RM over engines like Unity. In Unity old plug-ins that aren't updated often break because Unity updates so often. Whereas most RM plug-ins from years ago continue to work.

    Unity tutorials tend to be woefully behind in versions as well meaning it can get very frustrating to try figure out something only to find the tutorial doesn't work due to version changes.....

    I closed RPG Maker because I should be sleeping...

    ...But instead of going to sleep, I got on the forums to look up what format to convert audio files into for background music, posted an introduction, and randomly read an entire thread about a plugin that I have no intention to use.

    I can already hear future-me regretting this decision, but I regret nothing.
