  • Idea: What if the Roman Empire had space travel?

They'd be sued by Games Workshop for using Latin words and phrases for their space legions. :p

I dunno, the thought of Caesar or Caligulia having space flight might make for an interesting RPG.

Caligula declares war on Apollo and attacks the sun. I know that he never really declared war on Neptune as some accounts claim, but imagining Roman soldiers stabbing at waves still makes me laugh.
Creativity (n): When dinner is whatever you got around that you need to use up.
Project advice: You got know when to hold them, know when to fold then, know when to walk away, know when to run.
Ok, class, today we will learn about dinosaurs! This will be fun, and perfectly safe!

Oh no! It's like the Magic School Bus' evil twin, where danger comes to YOU!

The students don't need to rely on mere theories and speculation, they get to experience dinosaurs first hand. So jealous! The surviving students will be able to tell you everything you need to know about dinos. :p

Well, it's a deserted school now, so you can hazard a guess at how well that lesson went.
Took a break to finally play Portal...years later. Not sure what all the fuss was as it's just ok.

leaving the mechanics as it's own separate matter that merits it's own treaty.... Portal was Valve's revolution of the BSP format.
the only engine capable of rendering quality similar to Source, at the time, was Unreal. And you probably know how demanding it is, for rendering said quality.
and don't even get me started on CryTek.

I played it years ago for the same reason. "What's the fuss about?". The dark humor got me. Then, the puzzles. It did something I've never seen done before or since. I WANTED to complete the puzzles. WITHOUT A GUIDE. I would feel SMART for completing them. Portal 2 solidified the story much better, though the puzzles weren't as good.

shhh, we're not allowed to say we didn't like it.
How not to design a game: Hide an ending and give the player nothing in game to clue them in that the ending exists.

That bit about Castlevania: Symphony of the Night not only cuts out the ending, but nearly half of the game! (Still a great game regardless, but yeah, they could've given more hints)

Or maybe you were talking about Dawn of Sorrow. That one also had this. You then realise there are extra 2-3 stages to the game that lead to the true ending.

Oh my God, and why did he even need to wear that charm? It didn't seem to alter the events going on around him or protect him from the villains Magic, it just makes Julius and Alucard come in and bail his ass out. Why couldn't they just do that without the charm?

the game actually does tell you to put it on, though.
Why I don't like level scaling: It's too easy to game by having 1 weak party member in the party.
Go to your computer and back up your project now. We just had someone lose 8 months of work, don't let that happen to you too!

I always appreciate these posts, I saw one from you a little while back and it made me realize I forgot to back it up! It's now saved daily in 3 locations on 3 drives lol
Heat waves like this are when I'm glad all my work shifts are online this month. Don't gotta go outside unless I want to.
A full day of EDF, finally beat the game...on normal, as a ranger. I'm going to dream of ants, flying insects, dragons and big robots.

    The EDF Deploys!

I do love the Dragons. They're fun to dogfight as a Wing Diver. :D

Man I dream about those anyway. When I was a kid I had a nightmare that my stepmom was a 6 foot fireant-stepmom hybrid. She picked me up and burned me with flames that came out of her chest lololol
Wish RL ants could be dealt with as easily as they can in EDF. Then again, if I did deal with them the EDF way I'd also have no house too.

Or Spiders... Or Hornets... :D EDF does have a lot of nightmare fuel enemies. The spiders in particular get to me.

Yep. Hope no one on the EDF is allergic to bee sting. Not sure there's enough medicine to treat being stung by that!

@TakeHomeTheCup if RL were anything like EDF, you'd survive that explosion with a few bruises lol.
Been playing EDF 4.1. Silly, but fun.

If EDF 5 goes on sale, I'd recommend picking that up, if you want the duplicates to "level up" the weapon. Early on in the game, you can get the starter weapon to be fairly powerful for even a Level 0 weapon. I got it nearly maxed out and it was more powerful than a default Level 4 weapon I had. It allows you to "gain power" despite the level restrictions in multiplayer :D It's pretty cool.

See, I just thought there was a way to level up the weapon. Not always with duplicates, but with other drops. But still glad to know how it works. BTW, what are the medals? Is that just showing what levels I've completed at what difficulty?
    Tai_MT
    Tai_MT
The medals show what difficulty you completed the level on, with which class. The game actually wants you to beat the game with all four classes... on all five difficulties. Not sure if it matters all that much to do so unless you just want all the unlocks and achievements. But, it's a good way to let you know what you need and give you some goals.
It's amazing how much more game dev you can get done when you have a few weeks off of work.

I hope to be able to post my vxace resource edits this Wednesday.
Not sure if I'll get to the library though.
Me: Man, I'm definitely burned out this time. Time for a break. Me three hours later: I'm ready to work again, let's go! Me another hour later: Okay, I can't do this anymore. Repeat for infinity.
Just got MV and am working on porting over my new game from VX Ace to it! I haven't done much with my new game so it should be pretty quick.
I was doing forge runs on D2 with my wife last night, and singing like a leprechaun to annoy her XD. I was calling it 'The Farge'
