  • Officially not a mod anymore. Thanks for the many years!
Hi! I bought your Ancient Dungeons Winter Tileset - in your sample photo you show a brick building on the bottom right with an interesting roof... for the life of me I cannot recreate it for practice. I can get the brick fine, its the roof...as there is only one roof in the pack and I've tried to use the left half of it but being on a D set...idk idk! Any help is appreciated!

And yes this character limit made my reply look like an 8 year old wrote it hahaha. Love this community, you guys are fantastic!

But for anyone viewing this: I am looking for a good tutorial on mapping. And layer order. Like let’s say a village is in cliffs, do I start with the terrain and ground tiles, then house building stuff, then trees etc finally followed by detailed objects? Is there a easy rule of thumb? Just crazy weird how these layers work for a guy new to RMMV

I was working on a background for my game, and god - I missed drawing architecture. I miss creating tiles! Image in comments.
Hello. I'm a puddle. We don't have a/c here because we're not used to high temperatures.
Hi Celianna! First off, thank you so much for your hard work, I absolutely love your tilesets, they are gorgeous! I hope you don't mind me asking here, but I know you said your underwater tileset is not available for commercial use, but I was wondering if you have any plans of releasing one that may be available for commercial use in future? Even if it's a small one, thanks again!

Sorry to say nothing is planned at the moment. The most likely release for me would be another expansion set to the Ancient Dungeons series, but that's it.

Oh no big deal! Honestly, I'd be super excited to see another expansion into that series, I have all 3 and they are absolutely gorgeous! Thank you so much for the reply!
I have an ordinary question... You are creator of "Futuristic TileSet" for RPG Maker VX Ace?
If you are, then can you, please, make MV version for sale on Steam? It may be really godlike!

As Sharm said, I'm not interested in upscaling my tiles. AD was an exception as someone else did the redrawing for me as Degica really wanted an MV version. But I won't be bothering with that work.

Well... This is really sad... I mean, "Futuristic" was my most favorite custom tileset for VX Ace... By the way, "Ancient Dungeon" is good too... T3T

There are other options if you want to use Ace tiles in MV. There's a nice upscaling program in Useful Development Tools, or you can use Shaz's plugin for using the 32x32 tiles as if it was 48x48, or use an external mapping program like TileD.
Celianna, is it ok if I reach you through PM? I want to ask you something about your tilesets, and it doesn't quite merit a forum thread. Fair warning, I might end up picking your brain. (Creatively!)
Trying to prepare for an official release and suddenly so many bugs prop up. Ahhhh, stressful!

Hahahhah... uhh *ahem* that’s quite unfortunate I mean :D
If anyone got a suspicious PM from a spambot today, please do not click on the link and delete the PM.
Steam really doesn't want you advertizing your *******. Yikes.

Steam did play my game, where if they tried to click on a section in the menu that's reserved for the paid version of the game, it would give a link to my *******. They didn't like that, so they rejected that build and told me to remove it >_>

So there's not a full version on Steam? It's just a demo and you can only get the full version through *******?
I guess I can see Steams side of it. They want full games on their store rather than links.
    Celianna
    Celianna
@FleshToDust that's not what's going on here. It's a full game, just extra content is only available through *******. Steam specifically said if I wanted people to donate, to create a DLC tier for donations. Basically, if there's any money being generated, they want it to happen through their channels.
I've always had respect for your ability to provide so many incredible resources. But after today and seeing a certain post you made. I feel so happy, and so thankful that you exist. You have no idea and I wish there were more people like you in the world. Please never change. Sincerely, a mere fan.

Thanks! But I'm curious which comment you mean haha.
I've always wondered, are you self taught or did you go to school for art? You've always been my favorite artist on the forums, and I've never really asked in passing conversation on random threads we've both been on
Sometimes it's hard to realize just how much you've worked on your project until you sit down and play it yourself.
How much would you charge to get a custom castle tileset for my hogwarts inspired game? I've purchased all your sets already was just curious if you were up to any side work

lol, that's a little too exaggerated. I say with $3000 you definitely will have a 2 tile pages at least (ex: B/C) with good quality. Yeah but i doubt anyone pay that much for 2 tile pages
    Sharm
    Sharm
When I was doing commissions I would get that much pretty regularly. I mean, I got paid over time and the amount varied depending on the size of what I was doing, but yeah, people actually pay that. I had no problems finding work.

Although the rates make sense for the amount of work, I wonder if indie devs ever commission such big works (entire tilesets for 20k +). I can imagine a company paying tens of thousands to get a pack for sale. But I'm curious if indie devs ever pay that for one game?
Hi Celianna, I was wondering if you have any plans on updating your ancient dungeons to the MV tile size? I absolutely love that set, and I want to use it so bad, but I have no experience in enlarging sets and such.

Depends on what functions you have in the software you use. When resizing, there are often numerous "resampling" options available for how it treats new dimensions on each pixel. Play with those and see which one looks the neatest.
I only ever came across small issues, such as an occasional border of one tile/item might overlap to another, but you can fix that within 20 seconds.

Unfortunately, no I'm not re-sizing them. That means re-drawing an entire tileset, time better spent on creating NEW content.

Check out Shaz's Change Tilesize plugin that allows you to use 32x32 sized tiles in MV. It's in your DLC > RPG Maker Web folder.

Thank you Celianna. I understand the amount of work that would be required, and I didnt expect it of you or anyone else. I just want you to know your tilesets are amazing, and you are a true artist.
Double checking something. Have you ever allowed people to distribute edits of your tiles?
    Celianna
    Celianna
    Nope, not allowed.
    Sharm
    Sharm
    Didn't think so.

does there exist a word for a state of being that is between "living" and (not "dead", but ...) "not living" .... does that make sense, or do I just sound like Im high for something :[ ?
Hope you are all fine today~
Moderators, you must have so much patience to be able to deal with everything. I mod in a server of sorts and today we just got a message, which, despite it's helpful constructive criticism, basically stated that all of the mods were jerks and that was the only reason our server was unlikeable. So, thank you, for having patience. You are appreciated! :kaoluv:
Haired slime? Trying some different styles of art. Maybe I can make some resources with this new kind of painting.......
