Seeing every indie game devs success on kickstarter really tempts me to try it but i need to focus on making my game WORTH playing first lol, in other news me and the family BOUGHT OUR FIRST HOME and i'm sooo converting my garage into my dev studio!!
Haven't been on here actively in awhile, project is going strong my biggest issue is the STORY, i'm refining the plot and learning so much i decided to take a writers class to improve even more but the programming and functionality of the game is stepping up nicely!
So I just decided to go down the rabbit hole of youtube and educate myself on the ENTIRE history and timeline of Megaman, Megaman X, Megaman Zero and a bit of Battle Network/Star Force & ZX and WOW am i inspired to make a great series.
Weird thing i notice i do, while making faces in the face generator I freeze MY OWN face in the expression im working on, if i make an angry expression i sit there with frowned eyebrows, if its happy, i'm smiling, im scared to do a crying expression lmao
Ugh I miss the me from 3 weeks ago, I realized I had everything I needed to do an early development trailer and while putting it together I get more and more critical and want to edit 20 things and REDO the trailer which is soon exhausting im losing motivation ughhhh gotta power through!
after 5 hours over 2 days i think i finally BALANCED my game! now before anyone goes "impossible, thats too quick", I should say majority of my game, being part 1 of a series, is quite linear w/ hard coded script battles. Only a few instances of player freedom to fight who and where you want, some might hate that but for me I think its essential for this part of my game. next battle motions and animations.
The lady's at work, the kids at daycare, and i took a week staycation from work, using these next few hours to work on something i've been putting off FOREVER.....battle balancing, battle motions and animations, smh....so far all the stats for the tutorial battles are complete, but that was easy, now gotta balance enemy range when players are able to play freely and equip gear
After being told by loved ones for the last few months, lately I've been considering going back to school for a game development certificate, is anyone else on that journey? What schools (USA) do you recommend & most importantly, do certificates really help you get a job in the gaming field?
my main character isn't the warrior of light or the chosen one, he's a self righteous, invasive try hard who gets ahead of himself and makes a critical error, resulting in a downward moral spiral that, eventually, leads him to truths that make him a better man, and im DAMN proud of that.
brain fried, please help, when i open the shop menu to sell items it lists Weapons, Armor & Key Items as seperate categories with items to sell, but those items in my game are not meant to be sold. thus i ask, how do i remove Weapon/Armor/Key Item categories from the sell menu?
PRODUCTIVE DAY! I think I FINALLY completed all the items for part 1 of Fallen Feather, that includes the animations, the stats, the pricing, etc. for weapons, armors, key and consumables! all i need to be 100% done is write a few more descriptions (only 10 left out of the 40+ items) and to find some nice pants icons (dont ask lol).

Oh no. Necessity is the mother of invention. Do I want to know what happened?
