  • Been having a hard time staying focused on game making, but I got a new script from Zane that helped me get a handle on things. Thanks so much Zane!!
    OMG, How hard is it to make an event where it runs from you and when you catch it, it stops and heals you. APPARENTLY, stupidly hard. Atleast for a noob. Imma go to bed and tackle the issue tomorrow I guess :T

    Maybe when you touch the event. The event triggers a 1 sec wait timer. Then you add the rest with healing, animation etc...

    just make an event with a custom move routee that uns away from you faster than normal speed, this adds difficulty. Then make it heal when the event is touched. done :)

    I don't see any extra spam so it looks like it was dealt with. Seems that's been happening to a lot of people lately though (seen several instances recently where 3+ identical posts would pop up at one time.)

    I think I've finally developed a system to successfully draw on a digital platform, ho ho ho! Now for bed -w- Tomorrow I shall rip it with the face graphics!
    This weekend I got NOTHING done for my game or school..wtf was I doing? I was realizing how bad my art style looks on a digital platform.
    SO, whose now drawing the facegraphics for my game, after all this time saying "I'LL JUST CHARACTER GENERATOR AND EDIT ALOT IT'LL BE FINE" This guy, right here.. -_-;
    Last night, I calculated how many maps I will need to create for my game..around 58 total. FML.

    I just got paid recently, not much, but still got some cheese..heavily considering going and buying some resource packs..ALL THE RESOURCES
    I'm starting from scratch with my game by copying and pasting what I do have into a new game project and I'm gonna work on mapping again @-@

    I hated starting my game over from scratch--but it was like 200% better for it. Whatever doesn't kill your game makes it stronger, I guess. ;)
    I am so excited about all my planning for my game coming together in my head. It's not going to be done within a few months though, I realize that now XD But I won't settle for less even if it is my first game!

A video game has a brand attached to it.
No offence meant, but it is disadvantageous to use the default RM graphics due to the fact that they can correlate your game strongly to other RM games and whatever associations a user has with those unrelated games.

thats it, i 've had it, I will NOT promote my game as a "retro RPG" when its done, i have in the past but it is literally the first thing on every rpg maker game description to the point that you'd think the sales pitch came with the RTP. I refuse to use that angle.
My memory is embellishing the quality of NES era game assets :/ .... I need to stop comparing my work to somthing that was groundbreaking decades ago. Especially since its not as good as I seem to keep remembering it to be.
I finally found something that pleased me to organize my tasks. :)
