  • Done recoloring 3 spritesheets, took me an insane amount of time to finish. But when you are as bad as me it's not really a surprise :D

    I started the same way. Now it takes me an insane amount to make things. But it's improvement. Keep at it!

    This is unbelievably horrifying! Just unreal! I have seen aftermaths of tornadoes and its really horrifying too, but seeing like this is just out of this world. I feel for everyone that lives where tornadoes are common, its just so insanely terrifying. I have been fascinated by tornadoes from a young age, but this gives me a whole new perspective on them, oh my god.


    Glad the people in the video are okay, but you can just feel the pain and terror that they experienced in those few seconds. 
    How do you know if the choices you have made is decent enough? I'm so scared of moving forward with my battle-system and just end up realizing It's utterly terrible :p  I guess inventing it in the maker is the only way to find out huh? (God, it feels like all Im doing recently is complaining, sorry) xD

    Almost waving the white flag towards my project, when I finally thought my balancing was decent it turns out It's not... Might as well just throw the spreadsheet in the bin and start over. Why do I have to suck at math?

    On a serious note, don't give up. Balance issues will occur all the time. Just see what aspect feels unbalanced and fine tune it.
    Made a mini-map for my overworld and made a "dot" so the player can see where they are on the map by the actors X and Y position. That was not too hard. Now I just need to figure out how to do it for the airship... sigh.

    Can't you use the same method as you used on the player? Set a couple of variables to event's X and Y positions?

    Lol, I see. Seems like a hilariously strange thing to do. I've heard of that show, though not watched it. Heard it's about supernatural and folk tale creatures existing in the real world and all.

    Well you know me right, I was born strange :D


    Yeah, It's about the occult. New takes on classics like Dracula, Frankenstein etc webbed together in a complete story. It's an amazing show :)  
    This will never, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever... (ok I think you get the point) get old!

    It's amazing how versatile a piano is. It can literally convey any mood the artist wants it to, and pull it off without a hitch. I'm really loving the piano cover above. Wicked good.
    Well... last episode of Game of Thrones blew my mind :D

    I get the theatrics of this event and it was a cool way to bring that full circle. But the two remaining would have realistically been caught up in a matter of minutes, if not seconds, and been gobbled up. How does a teenager pulling an incapacitated teen on a sled through 2 feet of snow get very far?
    Well that entire cutscene took me... let's see, 1,2,3,4,5... 5 hours to create. My god.

    I agree! Thing is I always tend to make a minor little mistake somewhere so when I playtest I get an error, and then I have to fix the error (something like I forgot a tiny little thing in a script code or something, or showed the wrong graphic etc). Things like that also waste unnecessary time since I always wanna fix it straight away so I don't forget it :p  


    It's even worse when I'm sleepy, then I tend to overlook things on a wider range. But I agree, trying to keep it simple is what I do too. But one little tiny slip up somewhere can make such a huge difference in how it processes the cutscene (well, sometimes).

    Lol. Don't bring yourself down. What you mentioned above about making tiny slip ups happens to all of us. If I had a penny for every time that happened to me, I'd be very rich by now. ;)
    I will give up on creating emotion animations soon, how difficult can it be to make it work? Appearently very difficult since nothing works the way I want it to... driving me crazy.

    Those are really cool, but I have no real problem in creating the emotions (even though that thread you posted can help me out in making some new ones for my characters). But the problem I have is making them animate properly in an autorun event.

    @AwesomeCool I enjoy making them, even though I'm very terrible at it (and using vxace sprites only). It spices up the characters expressions a lot too, if you can get it to work properly. Which I can't.
    Wnat to work on my game but I'm too tired, night night RMW, see ya tommrow ;D

    Seems I was so tired I forgot how to spell properly :D
    Testing out the External test script and wow It's mind-boggling to get everything organized... hopefully I can work it out though because it will be worth it in the end :D

    Ye so far I'm using folders for each of my locations and in the order they appear in my project - for example: 002 - Forest of Pluvia, and then I have subfolders with map ID for all the seperate maps in that area, and all the events in text documents starting with Ev 001 - (event name). 


    I'm just not sure if I shall organize it even more with sub folders in each location folder dividing interactable events, Npcs and events that is tied to my main quests and side quests. I'm a bit scared that I will lose track of which event that is tied to what, using the search function is pretty handy to find the events but its still a bit tough for me to organize it in a good way xD

    Yeah, the text files for the first few areas of my game are a mess. :D It started it quite organized, but after continously adding dialogues and events to those areas, I had to insert more and more text codes. I have to figure out something as well.

    I will just organize it the best I can for now and then fix the rest if I come up with a good solution :)  I enjoy the script a lot though because you can keep all the text in a more organized way and It's much easier and effortless to change or edit the text (Not having to find the event on the map, and then scroll through page after page of text :p
    Was so tired and about to head to bed, and now Im sitting here at 8 am working on my game. Why do I always get motivation at the strangest moments?

Continuing our countdown with Capsule Monster #14 Plug-Go! Plug-Go was originally meant to be the design of a gameboy game I wanted to make that was inspired by Megaman Battle Network! While that hasn’t worked out I’m happy I was able to recycle his design!
