  • I had a great Valentines Day this year! I hope you all did as well. I forgot to upload this yesterday since I was out but just imagine as if it were still valentines day! :kaopride:

I love drawing these types of characters a lot but it’s come to my attention that I don’t actually know if it’s a type of fantasy race with a name already. Does anyone know if this looks like a Demon Girl or is it a Dragon girl? I just like the design lol.

Well, I mean, you got One Piece, Dragon Ball, and Attack on Titan. Sometimes, the more cringy it is, the better. Other times, if it's a little cringy, it's alright. But the whole focus in creating a game is to make your dream come to life in RPG Maker's style. You're bringing life to your own characters and NPC. So it's all good.

depends on the behavior of the character, really.
    female demons are sometimes succubi.
a female *horned* character can also be a tiefling, not necessarily a demon.

How can anyone else tell you what your character is? :guffaw:
It's not like demons and dragons are real things with established anatomy for their horns that we can compare to. She is whatever you decide she should be, and she looks very nice.

Still working on the base sprite for the Young adult women characters in my game. So far I've made A-B cup, C cup and D cup chests, also thinner thigh versions for the down, left and right versions. I put it in a spoiler tag since I'm not sure if base sprites count as nudity. Open to criticism.
Am I allowed to use VX Ace and MV assets like tile sets characters on MZ? I own all 3 engines and really wish to kind of use all the assets and not really let them go to waste.

Trying to learn how to draw anthropomorphic characters for my rpg game. I still need a lot more practice, cause right now It just looks like an animals head on a muscular mans body :kaoeh:

Currently working on the female base sprite for my adventure game. Thanks to the horror game I'm already working on. I already have base sprites for ages [6-9], [10-13], [14-17]. Now I just need to make ages 18-21 along with the armor. And finally the combat sprites. Credit to @Anisoft for the sprite inspiration.
I wanted to make wearable armor in my game, but after starting on my base sprites I realized how crazy such a task would be for one person :kaomad2:

My favorite MMO (Trickster) and strategy game (Disgaea) are both 2D and allow you to customize the looks of equipment... and they still don't have the characters actually wielding the equipment, per se. It's just attached to their person in a way that makes sense.

So if professionals have trouble, I can't imagine the hell it would be for a single person to incorporate. :kaoback:

I almost always make visible wearable equips in my games and although I enjoy it, it is daunting. More tedious than hard.

You could always do like the older isometric RPGs and have only a few different sprites for different classes of armor (e.g. light, medium, clothing etc.) Then this or that set of armors would go to this sprite and so on. That would lighten the workload while still having different armor.
Oh no. It’s becoming quite apparent how difficult it is to come up with purpose for the main character in an rpg game. I actually managed to make 3 pretty fleshed out stories for side characters but the main character is proving quite difficult.

Oh yeah, it's very important for the main character to have an inciting incident which causes them to leave home and go on a journey to do what they believe is what they need to do.

In my game, my main character has a mom that's really sick, so he needs to find his healer friend who promised to help him, except surprise! She is mugged by thieves and so you spend the first part of the game tracking the thieves down to get the rare item back that your friend took so long to find. From there, the world expands and things force the character away from home.

! Something keeping the character away from home. Interesting.

Yup I feel like I might open up a thread but first I’ll come up with a set of ideas otherwise It wouldn’t be fair to have others do all the thinking for me.
I think now that I settled in with MZ and understand the engine very well. I wanna try and jump in to making an actual rpg adventure game. A little intimidating knowing there’s top dogs here on the forum, but I’ll just do my best lol.
Not having a backpack is okay right?
Lol I know this sounds really weird but my character only wears a green hospital gown. I wanted to add a backpack the character can find later on. But If I do all my other sprites will need a what if he has the backpack in this part sprite.

In 99% of the games I've played, no one has a backpack. So...yes? :guffaw:

I don't think it's necessary, though there are one or two plugins out there that do a 'clothing system' where the backpack would have its own sprite that just gets overlaid over the top of the player, saving you some work.

You don't need to have your characters have a backpack. Most can suspend their disbelief since it's so ingrained in the gaming zeitgeist.

Need advice. I feel like the player can get a sense of what happened by seeing rather than reading. However my friends are divided. They say I should put some text about each corpse. What do you guys think?
Combining "Gameplay" with horror is rather difficult. Well thought out puzzles are nice but they definitely overstay their welcome unless you incorporate something else. All this pondering about ideas for my game is fun though! :kaojoy:

Yes I was thinking about adding key items that can help you to avoid death or help you fight back. Though making a script for that won't be easy :kaomad2:

I've only just begun into JS so for my life I mostly relied on fancy eventing for my stuff. (or use others' scripts and modified them to specifically fit my needs after much trial and error).

As someone who's working on a horror game right now, I totally agree. However I don't have to think about gameplay that much since story and narration plays a much bigger part for this one.

Vegan post. Pic of a pig in a suit and tie like he is laying in a coffin but it's a sandwich. 'One meal soon forgotten, in exchange for a whole life." Really don't think rolling around in poop your whole life would be so valuable.
Guys, Tutorials is for posting tutorials you have written, not for asking for help. Use the Support forums for that please.
Trailer is almost done for the game i can't wait to show it to everyone
I've got good news and bad news. The good news is, there aren't any bad news to report. The bad news is, there aren't any good news to report.

Or as others say, yesterday was uneventful.

I am curious that can you "understand/get the point" about what does this place do generally?
