  • I know I should stick with squatty sprites with a low palette so I can produce a lot more in a reasonable timeframe, but I always find myself leaning towards larger, more detailed sprites.
I want to make a game that takes place over about 100 years so I decided to list every character in Excel... there's at least 31 playable characters. o_O
I kinda want to make a game similar to SaGa Frontier 2, where you choose various story points in time to progress the game, and the whole thing takes over a large span of years.

Sounds like a very challenging concept to take on!

I have ideas on how to do it. Story points could easily be done with variables and I have an idea on how to handle character customization and leveling so that nothing is lost when changing between the many characters.

Nice work. Aside from the weak snares drum, it's really good! I'd say tune the snare by itself to a lower octave (usually -1 or -2) and bring up it's volume. You'd have a killer remaster of it!

If I knew how. All I did was throw it through a midi to ogg converter and then used Audacity to try and drown out the muffle and add a loop. I was just surprised by how different it came out through the converter... I was expecting to sound mostly like the midi.

I know next to nothing about creating music, however. o_O

lol! Ah, I gotcha. I started with just "remastering" MIDIs using a tool called Synthfont. Using SF2's, I would bring out the sound of certain music, but this was the phase when I was learning, so some tracks stunk like next a pile of garbage. lol
I just noticed there's an HD soundjack on the back of my monitor. Now everything sounds way better and there's no random crackling. Why didn't I see this when I bought it a year ago?

Cannot figure out how to connect these plot points. Decide to work on something unrelated. Come to realization that this other thing makes absolutely perfect sense in context with the story and connects plot together.

Wow, how serendipitous! It's great when your subconscious works on stuff without you, isn't it?
Every thread in the support forum is locked! It looks so spooky... kind of like a desolate town.

It means people's problems are solved, and mods are doing their job. Looks nice!
I hate it on sites when I have to scroll down before it loads more results. It makes it impossible to use the search function, and it sometimes means I gotta keep scrolling and scrolling down to find what I might need. Then if I visit somewhere and click back, I gotta reload everything again!
Someone bless me with drawing skills and tools because I'm lazy to make an effort.
I have tdeas of what to use in the sequel to this game I'm working on. Now I just need to make the first one... Stupid messed up priorities.

You could do what seems to be popular with some RPG games and use your current ideas to make a game and make your current project the surprising and unexpected prequel no one thought would exist.
I need to write a 1500-word paper for tomorrow. This weekend I wrote about 2000 words on information about my game, yet I can barely get over 700 on this assignment.

Yep, sounds about right. What's your essay on?
I'm feeling creative today. Maybe this could be the end to my poor motivation.
I don't like time limits, it prevents me from going at my own pace. I still had like 50 things left to do after finishing Atelier Ayesha.

As soon as there are time limits as a central theme I normally just stop playing, especially those from the newer Atelier series like Iris 3 and Meruru.
Please use proper punctuation and capilization in your game's text, it just looks so lazy and unprofessional, otherwise. I don't care if that's the way you normally type.

I'm very OCD about a game's text too.

Couple hours of work. Might use in my game as a secret find or something. Not sure. Fancy though no? :D
Holy stink, where have I been? Well, I started my temporary job this week. So less time to spend on game design... :(
Cartoonier cloud cover that better fits the art style, as well as (slightly) improved blending/fading... fading clouds when there are larger patterns is still somewhat abrupt for some reason.
