If a game had a moral-choice system at the beginning 3 chapters where defeating an on-screen encounter grants a "-2" at the end of the level whereas evading it granted "+2" at the end of the chapter, and then each chapter also had a dialogue choice that'd give/take points depending on the answer the player gives, how many points would you expect to gain from the dialogue choices?
A Mass Effect where Shepard's classes are dumbed down to a Skill Tree and the squadmates are downgraded to being mechanics-less NPCs who follow you around to talk to but otherwise disappear during combat, OR...
A Mass Effect where you only have access to the Squadmates in both story and gameplay; Shepard just straight-up doesn't exist.
It's not F***KING HEALTHY that I only have creative energy if everyone in my family is either asleep or not home. It's not F***KING HEALTHY to have this much creative indecision and paralysis.
STEAL THIS RPG MAKER IDEA: Inspired by Preach Gaming's "Drama Time" series, a simulation made in RPG Maker where you create, recruit members for, and manage a Raiding Guild of an MMORPG, with the Actors being procedurally generated representations of the players within the guild, with RPG Maker's stats representing traits pertinent to raiding in an MMO.
If I had a dollar for every newly-released film I saw last week where the climactic finale took place in a stadium-- involved the stadium getting utterly demolished --I'd have two dollars. Which isn't a lot, but it's weird that it happened in two otherwise VERY different films in such a short time span.
Me when I have Writer's Block: "I shouldn't even have RPG Maker open until I've fully penned out the layout and setpieces in advance."
Me when I don't have Writer's Block: *Completely ignores that advice and just throws maps together, coming up with setpieces that come to mind along the way*
So after completing the Mass Effect Trilogy the first time as a Vanguard, I decided to replay the trilogy as a Soldier. Thus far, I've just finished the Horizon mission in ME2, and I'm already exhausted from ME2's f**k-awful enemy design.
So I've been playing through the Mass Effect Legacy Collection lately, and even though I'm only at the 2nd game, boy howdy do I have a lot to say; I wanna say about 85% of it is positive, while the remaining 15% is going to be either negatives or damning with faint praise.
NGL, as much as I love MV's RTP tilesets, I highkey really miss VX Ace's RTP character sprites, especially the ones you could make yourself in the character sprite maker. Several of the clothing options in VX Ace that didn't make it into MV were perfect for my project's tone (endearing/hilariously Uncanny Valley faces notwithstanding).
With my project, I want the player to have access to all the tools they need to get from New Game to Credits as soon as possible; I want the player's progress to only be impeded by the player not knowing how to use the tools the game provides.
Well, rats. Was really looking forward to trying out FPS Creator, but trying to install and set it up was pretty much impossible for my tiny brain to comprehend. So much for that, then.
I just saw someone's post that had an instagram link. I have yet to be able to open that site up once, ever, or have an embed of it work (it just straight up won't show either of them). And I haven't really found a reason to try to fix the problem, either XD
I want to go play piano now. This is gonna be my stopping point today (yes, I’m very slow at drafting). Might have a few too many curly Qs? Obviously gotta finish the limbs and clean up. There are a few more outfit details I need to add. Probably going to do a background so that the pose makes sense, LOL.
