With my project, I want the player to have access to all the tools they need to get from New Game to Credits as soon as possible; I want the player's progress to only be impeded by the player not knowing how to use the tools the game provides.
Posting this as a status because it's just a passing idea that wouldn't work with the current project I'm working on: turn-based RPG where the first half is making four characters-- picking their classes, customizing their name/appearance, and getting them to max level individually in some kind of open world, and the second half is you having all four members joining together to take on several dungeons.
Wish there was a way to set up VX Ace/MV so that every time I start a new project, the specific things that I do with EVERY single new project I start (examples: remove escape's RNG chance to fail, remove surprise/preemptive, remove how Luck stat messes with the application of states instead of just the bandaid solution of setting everyone's luck to 1, etc.) is just done automatically upon the project's creation.
I'm very lucky that the test project I'm working on for MV takes place in a dreamland that's seperate from the rest of the continuity of my "series," because these default enemy sprites do not fit AT ALL with the general aesthetic I typically go for.
Still alive! Totally did not finish in time for the Jam (boy that's late) but tl;dr of the last half a year is Work term -> Covid Lockdown -> Sick... again -> Full time Employment. Game stuff has been on hiatus but got a new graphics tablet so hopefully updates again soon. =D
