You kinda have to imagine it zoomed out first, like the size it would be in-game, then it looks great!
(love your avatar btw, one of my favorite characters in the anime.)

@Nenen I just finished some grass, trees, and a rough pathway. I'm gonna put together a little screenshot for day 3 =]

Iroh is one of my role models, despite him being a fictional character, he's taught me a lot about life and how to treat, accept, and love people.

My new level features a Jellyfish character who cannot love, because he electrocutes everything he touches.
I made a lot of progress on the 2nd stage of my game. Only 10 levels but it took over a week to design and implement. Cant wait to share more info.
So trying out Ultra Mode 7 was a bad idea. How do I not include this in my game? XD

That's fair, it's definitely easy to fall down the rabbit hole of "oh shiny" when it comes to plugins. I ended up needing to cut it from my own game so I feel your pain. Turns out using it while building maps on the fly equated to a 20-30 fps drop on the target specs. It sure does look pretty though, well before it turns into a slideshow at any rate. :LZSwink:

No PowerPoint games, please. I think I prefer a visually boring one to that. :p

Ha, don't we all. Well except the visual novel community, I guess they like their games to be power point. Would be weird if they weren't.
One of these days I'm actually gonna make a RPG game with RPG Maker instead of fiddling with puzzles and house customization.
The hardest part about designing a logic puzzle system is actually trying to come up with creative puzzles that for the most part have the same rules.

did u get puzzled by making puzzle? are u trying to solve a puzzle of making puzzle?
    GoodSelf

Yes @TheoAllen I was making stellar progress, and now I can't create a single puzzle level. I think one of the hardest things is getting MV to do what I want it to do. I'm struggling cause the puzzle revolves around an Autorun event that controls enemy movement, and I also want "Below Character, Player Touch" event activation simultaneously. Suffice to say it has been a real brain burner.
Not all heroes wear capes. Actually, most of them don't even own capes.
So, apparently MV just uninstalled itself upon? Just opened my computer, went to open the software and was prompted to "install" on Steam. o.0

Looks like the files got corrupted. I make a back up every 5 days or so - tonight just happened to be back up night. Lost a lot of progress, but I'll have to deal with it and push forward! I will be backing up my project every day from now on.

Where are your projects saved? If somewhere that syncs online (steam cloud, dropbox, etc), file corruption is a big risk.

I have moved my project from the steam directory so it can be saved in another folder. I also will be using drop box to save the back ups moving forward.

Really struggling to come up with a name for my game. Oh well. It will come to me eventually!

When I'm writing stories, I find characters will tell me the title. They'll bake it into the dialogue, or sometimes, it'll pop up in internal monologue.

So far, I keep coming back to "Kid Crescent". You play as a young teen in the small Crescent Village, where most of the game takes place.

It's your project so you def know what's best but I think simply calling it "Crescent" has a great ring to it on its own
This is the most progress I've made on a game in a long time - say what you want about not finishing projects, they sure do teach how how to run this engine like a champion.

Totally! i have learned a lot within the engine by not finishing projects, in fact, that means that my first project released to the public will be good, instead of something that you regret later.

Yeah I think everyone here had many unfinished projects that taught us the engine.
I love writing dialogue for monsters because I can write it in broken English and it's hilarious.

I have some talking slimes that speak with lots of "W" replacing some sounds (like, because they're slimey?". I'm not there to write dialogues for then yet but it's pretty funny to imagine them already xD
I feel the "scale" creeping up on me again. 5 levels, or 8? 10 rounds, or 15 each? Bonus levels? How many mini-games? How many extra little fiddly bits? Ahhhhhhhhhhhh someone send help.

It's good to have variety, but you shouldn't have too many side activities or the main game gets loss in all of it. That's something most open world games struggle with.

It's just gonna be one little village, and I'm assuming players will breeze through the main game quite quickly. I just want there to be enough so that it's a satisfying experience and that the player doesn't say "wheres the rest of the game?"
I was thinking about putting together an MV tutorial...what is something that a lot of you struggle with? Lend me some inspiration!

Can't help you there, pal. Those skills belong to a power higher than anything I can comprehend (considering i have game threads that will likely never be finished, unfortunately).

finally got this scripted right lol... I was running into a few issues like getting the event to play when all enemies were ko'd, actors going in and out of their victory poses, etc... still need to tweak a bit tho.
