  • Dealing with short bursts of creativity spread across fanfic writing and pixel creation--currently working on a giant boss crab sprite for my game that I want to share with the community before my muse burns out today.
Ugh! I have a headache coming on--not sure if it's from the sudden change in weather or caffeine withdraw...only one way to fi d out--Coffee time!
Welp, finally posted some images to Twitter that I meant to post last year... Better late than never, right?
I'm wondering, what if I took the time to make a Bee Hive mirco-biome. It sounds cute, and be a home to that hornet monster, but would anyone actually use it?

It was on this day I learned... I learned of the secret importance of Bee tiles, from the same lady who showed me flesh dungeon tiles. I can't wait to see what surprise is next! :LZSexcite:

Hah! Oh, just stick around and you'll see. And oh, I do need to go back to the Flesh Dungeon before it becomes completely buried under everything else I'm doing. I still want to create a heart and brain for that set.

This shaping up to be one very weird "Plants Vs Zombies" knock off. :LZSwink:
Had no time to work more on my Redwood tiles yesterday and no time yet still today--But! Somehow found time to make diy health potion props.

It seems so super important in this business. I mean you can make the best resources in the world but basically nobody will see them. Whereas PewDiePie can draw a stick figure and more people will thumbs up that than probably people who will collectively ever see your work. Anything creative basically is a popularity contest most of the time. :kaoswt:

As sad as that it I totallu get it. Follower base. I know a number of rpg members have twitter accounts where they post their material...

Yeah, it's why I'm now "slowly building" a YouTube. Too often I see people post their games that they put their heart and soul into, nobody plays them or maybe a handful of people. It really doesn't make sense to put the kind of work I've already put into my game and not go the extra mile to make certain it has an audience. I only regret not starting sooner.
Running on a creative high right now. Expanding my Redwood tile D with doors, windows, and some other odds and ends today.

I sought out your resource thread, stuff looks pretty cool. I was scrolling down and saw you created Flesh Dungeon tiles. Not going to lie, it's so usual I'm definitely going to remember your resources exist. :LZSwink:

Thank you for saying so! And that's good to hear that someone will remember they exist! :D Also sounds like I need to go back and work more on the Flesh Dungeon additions I had planned to create.

I'm not going to lie, I feel like I did a good deed this day by encouraging the creation of more flesh dungeons. :LZSwink:
Woot! Woot! It's my birthday today and I'm going to be giving an awesome gift to the rpg community later today!
Wasting so much time trying to get a sprite behavior to work. I feel like banging my head against a wall.

    I feel your pain. I'm coding some new sprites and they're a real nightmare. ;_;

Coding sprites?! Oh gawd, what is that? Like you're writing out a plugin for sprites? Or did you mean custom movement routes?
    Silva
I'm making a plugin that adds a new scene with it's own unique sprites, so I have to write the code to decide which part of the spritesheet to use when, amongst other things. If you look in the rpg_sprites.js file, that's the kind of thing I'm working with. It's not horribly difficult, but as a non-artist having to make the spritesheets to test with is time consuming.
Everyone still uses icons for their games right? I got really into making icons in January and created over one-hundred food icons. I'm thinking of keeping it going and doing more. Was planning to offer up some on a new MV resource forum here but selling the vast majority of them in themed packs on itch.io. The first one I was going to post is a 'Meat Market' pack. I have around 34+, raw and cooked. Thoughts?

@xDRAGOONx -I feel the exact same way! I love icons in games and adore how they are utilized to portray everything from equipment, items, to quest markers, etc. They are an absolute visual treat, especially when the creator goes.out of their way to match the style of their game. Like if its an old retro game, the icons are retro too.

@Uzuki - When I started out making my icons I was trying to match Avery's, since I was using most of hers, but she didn't have a lot of the icons I wanted/needed and I wasn't about to pester her for 34+ meats! XD
A demo sheet-Oh! I don't know why I didnt think of that before! That is an excellent idea. I'll try to get something put together in the next few days.

Awesome! Let me know when you get it up. I would love to look over them.
So frustrated. Create city map, character walks around normally. Enter building. Come out and can't move. Discover floor is wall top tile.
Just updated my form to host a small sample collection of the dwarf pieces. I would love to hear feedback about what the community thinks.
Well, made 7 noses instead of the 4 I thought I would. Is there a way to make noses appear on the Battler and sprites?

Best to ask in the appropriate support forum. Depending on how you are wanting to add them, that may be Resource Support.

Just thought it looked odd that when I selected the nose it still had a small one on the sprite. Wasn't sure if I could just add nose pieces to the sprites like accessories or something. I'll dig around on the forms.
Good news everyone! My hubby got me MV! Even more good news-I'm finally making a mega-pack of dwarven parts for MV's generator!

Steam is going to be forcing me to update my desktop OS for Mac. It's a good thing that my laptop is Windows otherwise some of my work and a lot of game save files for 32-bit games would become unusable for a while.
Last day in Florida and then we head home. It was a fun, relaxing trip with just the wifey poo. Still managed to make some progress on my Game Jam project though.
