Tooling around with a new poster, this time for the entire MagiCats! series and not only Infinite Sadness. It's a little alternative as far as layout and composition are concerned, but I like it.

Speaking of Infinite Sadness, I'm thinking about releasing a second demo for it. IS's first demo was well received, so a second should help build up even more hype before release.

Do you see on the icons or faces the little clip-offs on the sides? That's because either the engine or the plug-in has lied to me about the real size of faces. Now I have to go through each face and scale it down using special linear interpolation.

This fight takes place in a flashback, by the way, so no real spoilers for the story (to those of you who have played the demo).
Started moving house today. Putting everything in boxes. Listening to Mac DeMarco's new album. Feelin' groovy.

Just gonna say that moving generally sucks. Not necessarily the concept, but the act itself. I am getting old and every time I move I swear that I won't do it again. Someone else is going to do it. Then I turn around and help my adult children move. Ugh.

Moving is tiring and exciting ^^ I just moved to a new state on the 1st and still feel exhausted lol. Good luck and congrats on the new place :kaojoy:
WoTC's OGL fiasco has a lot of people panic-buying and downloading OSR and NSR TRPGs, including the one I published, Yellow Magic. They're afraid the licensing will get revoked and the books pulled off the shelves, so to speak. The issue is that Yellow Magic wasn't written under the OGL, and is 100% original, so there's no point!

I want to try out the REALLY old school TTRPGs like Cyberpunk 2020, Gamma World, or ADND. The new stuff seems, idk, too easy? My DM runs 5E and no matter what new campaign he does it seems the same.

@cthulhusquid I've DMed all kinds of old games, to OD&D and Petal Throne, but I find the most interesting old games are licensed ones like Star Wars d6 and Conan 1985. My own preference is for the 3.5e era, but maybe that's just because it's when I was a kid, playing Baldur's Gate and KotOR II.

As for difficulty, there is some level of difficulty hardwired into rules, like more traps and spells being save-or-die earlier on, but most of it really comes down to the DM. I've seen campaigns of 5e where there's a TPK or near-TPK every session.
Christmas Promo! Three mollies of Ikshum's Megapolitan Guard: Myorin, Zoreslava and Assol!

The Curia takes special care to ensure the Great Army is comprised only of toms; but the Guard, controlled by the witches of the Diet, is mostly mollies -- reflecting the natural difference in population of the world of MagiCats!

Eagle-eyed viewers may notice similarities between Myorin and another Russian blue in the continuity of MagiCats!: Darko, who will appear much further down the road in Death Trip.

This game looks really interesting, I'll have to find some time to try it out.
I've been writing for the game, working on other stuff relevant to the MagiCats! universe. The demo is still going strong on itch. I haven't posted much, but that doesn't mean anything's changed behind the scenes. I hate to show up empty-handed, so here's a MagiCats! Monday! poster I made a few months ago:

Wait, where are you all going? And what is with that hook coming on stage?

Let's hope Britain doesn't fall apart. People's lives are at stake here!
Also, the Queen is chilling up there now... in THE CLOUDS. She does NOT deserve to deal with this crap.
You've seen Eluned's Battle Robo, now meet Devoveo!
    1661798580829.png
Eluned saved him from the heap way back when. In Amait, robos are made by constructing an elemental on the astral (or Yeshod), then sealing this elemental in a mechanical body on the terminal (or Malkoot). Witches are the masters of this craft, but the Curia is generally opposed to the creation and use of robos.

I've missed posting art and things from the game, but after September things should go back to normal.

I like your art style, it's very cute and charming :)
Finally working on those combat animations! Just finished the signs of the grades, about to work on the invoking and banishing pentagrams and then the letters of the tetra- and pentagrammaton.
One last piece of music to round out my theme in posting it this week.

Battle music! There are three classes of music in my game: area (rare, melodic); battle (common, rhythmic); and cinematic (rarest, actually sound like normal songs). But the music posting doesn't seem so popular.

Think maybe I ought to turn down that hi hat.

Anyway, MagiCats! will have something more like a film score than a musical or operatic one. In RM terms, more like LISA, where everything is different, than Undertale where there are all these recurring motifs.

if you were to change the instruments to SNES synth and tell me it's a 1996 game's world map music, I'd believe you.

especially that lick at 0:48 (and previously around 0:35), that rise and drop, if you change it to synth strings and maybe pitch it one octave higher, it should sound happy and joyful, .... like an RPG of that time.

Progress on Glitzerine! I've set up all the instruments and remixed it.

Those of you who played the MCR:IS demo with a discerning ear may notice my affinity toward goofy sounding 70s keyboards. I think all that Spyro when I was a kid did it to me.

Working on music for the game! This here will be played in Ikshum, the snowy, easterly "hometown." I usually don't ask for feedback, but I've listened to this track so many times I honestly can't tell how good it is anymore. This is the main loop, no intro.

This isn't the final mix, of course. Far from it. You can hear that I'm trying to emulate how old hardware had limited channels for audio, like the SNES, but with modern virtual instruments it sounds like chamber music.

This sounds great. May I use It for my game to please?

that tuba/horn, switch it from single note to quiet sustain.
*single-note brass base accent* relates to marching band, not home town.

I've got good news and bad news. The good news is, there aren't any bad news to report. The bad news is, there aren't any good news to report.

Or as others say, yesterday was uneventful.

I am curious that can you "understand/get the point" about what does this place do generally?
