  • That MV update was a disaster, it won't even run now and I don't know how to downgrade it back to 1.5.1.

One of them is a critical bug, using tiles as event graphics makes your MV crash.

Yeah I think it was released too soon as well (MV updates usually work on at least my old potato laptop, but it didn't work on it or the other PC with 1.6), and thanks I've successfully downgraded back to 1.5.1 and everything works again.

Well, MV 1.6 changes a lot of things for advanced developers, but most people will not really feel the change, so it's not like you lose too much by staying at 1.5.
There really needs to be some paid battleback resources for MV available at the store.  I haven't seen any as of today, and I wouldn't mind extra battle backs especially since I have characters who can change the battleback when using some of their attacks.

I would love more battlebacks in general, it's easily one of the more scarce resources.
I just seen the Nintendo Direct and RPG Maker Fes has modern resources in it, now I really need a resource pack of those assets for MV.
I just got Ace now I can get those DS packs once the need arises.

Congrats! There is a lot of scripts for Rpg maker ace, my favorites are the atelierrgss ones!
I see VX Ace in the humble bundle, maybe I should get that on Friday.  I just want it for monster resources and to eventually get those DS packs for their music and monsters to put in my MV project.

Is it in a bundle or just for sale in the store?

Some of those comments. *RPG Maker hate intensifies*

Wish we could get a better look at the resources. They look nice, but not very different from the DS sets.

Hate? You mean like "5% playable" for games kind of comment? Well, they're probably correct, but I'd bet such a statement can be applied to any game creation engine.

I don't necessarily disagree with them. But I do wonder when people rag on RPG Maker if they're being genuine or if they're just jumping on the hate bandwagon because it's the cool thing to do. Hmm.
Look at Steams rating for MV, maybe all of the plugins and stuff is the reason for the stellar 9/10 rating.
    Live2D in MV, mind blown.

I think the point being made is that it's working in MV. Not that it's some revolutionary new tool or animation method.

@taarna23 - Same reason Apple is praised for Smart Phones (they were not the firs to do it), they made it simpler and attractive.

EternalShadow: No, there's no 3D involved. In fact, that's one of its advertising points. http://www.live2d.com/en/about/flow Live2D in RM is cool, but I'm curious if it's at all similar to formats like Spine, as it's basically the same thing, with more anime girls.
I just seen the character sprites of the Japanese MV DLC, why can't we have that? They need to put that up on the Japanese site free for MV owners.

can you buy it from the Japanese site? i would nab it from there if i could!!!
I really need that Skill cost items plugin that doesn't requires items to be equipped, as using an ammo plugin is not practical for an in battle cooking system
I thinking about just changing my project to front view instead of side view as I can have more character resources to work with.

Personally, I like front view as the fights just seem to flow so much faster than when I have to watch my actors walk up to each enemy and hit them.

I agree with you and it's nice MV gives you the option for both views.

I got alternate normal attacks to work thanks to the weapon skill plugin.

If only it could change variations on skills as well (IE: Double Strike should switch to a DEX-based version if using a Bow)
I need a good tutorial that can hold my hand for character sprite creation.

no dont go down that dark and evil road of sprite creation D: the horror of sprite creationn is better left unknown.....
I like the Front Mission 2089 attribute icon style, it's easy to do, maybe I should change the rest of the element icons to fit it's style.

finally got this scripted right lol... I was running into a few issues like getting the event to play when all enemies were ko'd, actors going in and out of their victory poses, etc... still need to tweak a bit tho.
Which version should I get? 2000, 2003, XP, VX, VX Ace, or MV. I'm a beginner and have no coding knowledge and also I wanna be able to add voices.
