I prefer doing indoor maps. Outdoor maps feel too square and unnatural to me. At least with indoor maps I can organize the building how it might realistically be lived in.

I most enjoy designing indoor dungeons. Indoor houses I find kind of tedious, whereas outdoor locations, as Tai said, it's hard to not make them appear too square and blocky, because things like mountains and forests don't exist on a grid and rigid shapes.

I parallax map so maybe that's why I like it? I can see how in-editor could be frustrating.

No, Comic Sans has this unspoken rule where you don't use it past Grade 5.

Yeah, well, I used it for a project in grade 6 without knowing the rule and my dad's like, "Yeah, you may wanna change that."

Comic Sans is okay... if you're making a comic.

@Vox Novus I can name quite a few games that are AWFUL that have great reviews. LOL

Well, I've found they tend to at least be somewhat of an indicator as far as RM games are concerned. Once you read the same issues a few times over you kind of get the picture that its probably one to avoid.

The green fog is a part of the parallax image - and I have small pieces of fog (the darker pieces) that are 48x48 and animated. :3

And usually with eventing it's not so bad - I learned that variables are you friend, and really really simplify eventing custom systems. The post below helped me lots. :3

Yeah, variables can be used for a lot of things, rather than using individual switches. I try to event as much as I can before searching for plug-ins; especially since my project doesn't use the default menus and interfaces.

Thanks for the lil' tips on the fog. That'll really come in handy when I attempt to make my own fog covered streets and wastelands.

@bgillisp it's an RPGMaker commerical game so I won't shame it publicly.

@Haydeos The Dev only used roof tiles for their walls/roofs so the perspective of every map I saw was SO WEIRD.

Maybe they're going for a direct top down look? If you did that you'd never see the walls then. Or maybe every house had the roof blown off and its only the roof that is left

Agreed. I just spent all day today mapping building interiors for one map, and what you can find while searching them.

I mean, yeah - but the battle system is...fun?

The problem with that standpoint is that there are so many games out there that provide a much better third person shooter experience, no one buys mass effect for the third person shooter experience and it is absurd that that is the closest thing to a 'saving grace' as Andromeda has from everything I've heard about it.

@Alexander Amnell yeah, you're totally right - I was grasping at straws there. Mass Effect 3 was pretty terrible at launch too - so I hope they're able to overhaul Andromeda for the better.
