  • The new Macbook Pro refresh looks amazing but there's no way to justify $1499 for the touchbar version. I'd pay maybe $100 more than the current model
The best way to keep focused on one RM project: Dev on a Macbook Pro with only 512gb storage so you can't actually store more than one project
last night's mistake: forgetting screwdrivers aren't just orange juice

consequence: missing my 9:30 and 11:30 classes
Thinking of a title for a game is so difficult...

I like titles that describe something from the game over strange cool sounding titles that don't tell me anything. For example, having a important item in the story, or important lore from the story, etc...and referencing it in the title.

Not everything needs to be a synonym for final fantasy to be a great title.
Haven't logged in since December 2015 and I still see people I met back from when I was active, really hope I can get a real project going

Thanks! I'm glad to be back. Now that I'm in college I actually have more free time to work on games, see you around!

Welcome back, hope you get something out. I find the monthly goals and progress thread helpful for staying motivated, that and working on projects you will really find fun to do.
Haven't even touched anything related to RM in months. Now that college apps are in I can finally start again!
Finally got a friend to start working on my game with me!

Same here, my friend is going to work on dialogue and cutscenes mostly. He's got his own project to worry about as well

My friend bought me HuniePop and I feel kinda pervy playing it but I don't want to be rude and not play it.

It's the best candy crush you'll ever play... so I hear.
    I can't believe I'm back working on a project I started in 2013

You never know which ideas will end up being the best. I have too many to even count.
Turns out my friends dad is a software engineer who has made software for multiple gaming peripheral companies. I want to be a software engineer so I finally have a local resource and a contact in the business! Time to get some hands on experience

It's not what you know but who you know. Sounds like an awesome connection. Good luck!

I love solving them in games. Some though can be too difficult.
So I just completed a website for a local business as community service as part of a project I have to do for IB and the owner decided not to sign my service sheet after I submitted the site to them. That's 20 hours down the drain.

I mean since it's not monetary compensation it's iffy. I've been checking, I need 150 service hours for the project and losing 20 is a big deal.

Sounds like you got robbed. Hopefully you have better luck getting the rest. Maybe there is someone you can explain this to and get those hours back.

Can you UNsubmit the site? I'd have him explain, in writing, why he feels your 20 hours is not worth being able to claim.
Gonna revive one an old project from early 2013 that I never finished and make it my main. I forgot how good of an idea it was.
Gah! My keyboard broke so now I have to use a bluetooth pos until my K70 gets here, at the end of january.

Talk about a rock and a hard place. Mine at work was having problems with keys sticking till someone told me what to do. You get used to one keyboard and it's hell changing over to another one.
Almost done with the demo for my game. Do you guys think 15 minutes is a long enough demo for a two hour game?

I'd do at least 30, 15 minutes isn't really enough time to get into a game or care about it most of the time.

Thanks for the input, I'll do some more polishing and make it 30 minutes

Kitchen counters! I am on my second version of counters. It is slow going and I always see little details that could be done better. Have to force myself to say that's good enough for now and continue on.
