  • Okay... OneDrive just creeped me out... Even though I don't even have it installed or running on this machine, I just got an email from it wanting to remind me of my memories of this day of June from several years ago, and it was some of my drawings that I can't share here... quite creepy...
Ah, so THIS is what it feels like to sleep till I naturally wake up, and not be woken up by an alarm or other unwanted stimuli... holy crap I feel like I can lift a house! XD (Or work on my game)

I've never used an alarm clock.
my dad wanted me to pick up the habit, so he gave me a classic spring clock.
I stalled it so it would stop ticking and be quiet.
years later, I put the Star Trek klaxon as an alarm on my phone.
I let it sound for about five minutes, because I didn't want to reach for it out of the blanket.

    if I'm sleeping, I don't care if it's WW3 out there.

Better do some hands on work that doesn't involve a keyboard or mouse. :p

Guys, I didn't mention anything about being tired from working. I just have horrible insomnia and middle of the night hallucinations that often keep me from sleeping properly, no matter how tired or physically exhausted I am. Last night was an anomaly where I actually slept all the way through, so you can stop with the comments that I should do some actual work, or whatever. :\

You know.. I... I kinda lost my interest in living a long time ago. What sustains me is a lack of interest in dying.
Like a star that is balanced between the forces of gravity and outward pressure, I feel like the energy to produce that outward pressure is weakening. I feel like I should pull a Stardew Valley and revert to a more primitive lifestyle, away from others. :(

I completely relate to every aspect of this status. If I didn't have an elderly mother to take care of (and also mild internet addiction that needs which is honestly probably a top contributor for why we feel this way) I'd have bought an RV and gone full nomad years ago. Just move around whenever I get bored, spend my free time exploring national forests and the like, hiking, camping, seeing new things.

When I was an electrician I knew two brothers who did this, they'd move all around the country, find a jobsite that needed skilled labor to work while they were there and when they got bored they'd pack up and drive off to do it all again somewhere else.

@Philosophus Vagus Not the RV thing, but moving back to a lake town was an A+ move for me. I've only been back a little while so everything is WIP but we grow vegetables, we're preparing space for chickens, there's obvs fish. Very quiet. Stars are brighter. Ducks and rabbits nest in my yard so I've been making shelter for them. The highway is 2 minutes away when I wanna do all that city stuff.
Got new hard drive, now trying to install the softwares I lost to the dead drive, and more than half of them won't install because they're already installed on the dead drive, and uninstallers won't run because they can't find where their programs are installed. So I take it having a drive die on you screws you in more ways than just data loss. >:\

try finding the install paths in the registry and remove it.
you're probably safe to not break anything more than already is, if you stick to searching only for those programs.
anything related to those programs that could potentially break, will be restored with the new install.
try CCleaner as an assistant. If its cleaner doesn't cut it, you'll have to go manual.

I've been looking over for the registry for a while, not having much like finding the ones I need to get rid of.
CCleaner found 900-something 'issues' of unused registry entries that pertained to the missing drive, but still didn't help. I'ma keeping at it, tho. Man I hate 3-day weekends...
Okay so... resetting BIOS to default settings causes a hard drive to take 9999 damage and become resistant to phoenix downs.... and pleads...

@kyonides LOL; at least it was newer than those Cold War-era retro TV sets my parents had growing up.
You know... I'm no coder, but I can write some simplified versions of if/then programs. Such as...
IF: Kanori gets any more than a 2 day weekend THEN: Inflict injury, illness, or property anomaly so that they can't possibly enjoy a little extra time off. The consistence with this bull has been 100%. I want to find whoever programmed this universe and &%#*&^%#^@%^%%*#%*#^%#^*#^!!!!!

@kyonides the way I cope with the 'program' is by making a little side project game about a young lawyer who is constantly attacked by inconveniences that he swears are programmed to react to him trying to get things done. They literally are. :p

Had my 2nd-closest ever lightning strike at work on Tuesday. Blew out my left ear drum and the vaporizing rain kinda burned a little. Didn't help that the tree it struck broke apart and almost fell onto my switcher. The storm cell formed so suddenly nobody had time to report it as a THUNDERstorm. All we thought was "Oh no... rain..."

Okay so I'm deaf in one ear now. Geez, next time just hit me directly. :\

My eardrums have exploded three times, so hopefully after your eardrum heals it comes back. I have minor hearing loss in one ear but that’s after three explosions from recurrent infection and some deformity.

And yeah…thunderstorms can develop very rapidly this time of year if you’re near the dry line of a system.
Alright, so I'm upgrading my already more-than-powerful-enough PC to substantially improved CPU, GPU, and power supply... so I can run RPG Maker more efficiently (or flight simulators) XD

Jokes aside, it has recently come to my attention that my game doesn't run too smoothly on lesser machines, even my previous gaming machine, so... that needs attention...

@Bex 1) The 3070ti was given as a gift :D 2) I don't want to have to buy a different motherboard when I can just install a more powerful CPU into the existing socket. 3) AMD CPUs have always satisfied my performance targets. My next build will likely be Team Blue, tho. I like a bit of diversity. ;)

That makes sense and seems to be a good choice under the circumstances.
I believe you will have much fun and enjoyment with that PC build. Its a good CPU and GPU you mentioned.
    Kanori24
    Kanori24
Thanks. :) I already get a lot of enjoyment out of it. I just have a few heavy applications that need a stronger CPU. And the 3070ti would be bottlenecked by the current CPU, so it all works out XD

The oral surgery was a failure... there was a massive delay in getting numb, the nitrous oxide had little to no effect, and I had a panic attack upon the 2nd gag.

They referred me to somewhere else that will use an IV to put me to sleep, but to be blunt... I don't trust it will work.
I'll just live with the dental issues, thank you :\

@Ms Littlefish And my problem is that everything I experience is 'extremely rare'. Bad side effects from medications, certain bugs in video games, even getting struck by lightning. Things that have a 1/100000 chance of occurring, I'll almost certainly get it. The dentist was baffled that the nitrous had no effect on me. I wasn't, though... >.<

Failure? If i understand correctly, it did not take place because of the failed Anesthesia.
Thatway isnt it more like a delay? Wish you the best for the next Date.

@Bex could've waited for the anethesia. What no one, especially myself, could deal with was my anxiety and hyper-sensitive gag reflex. The nitrous oxide was nearly inneffective. Nothing makes it past my lips without causing me to gag. You don't even have to make contact with the inside of my mouth.
Well, tomorrow (11th day of May) is the big day. The battle I've not been training for. And I'm feeling apprehensive again about the effectiveness of the drugs to work on me. I'm not good enough for all-in anethesia, so they're gonna have me breathe nitrous oxide... the same stuff I worked with helping set up a drag racing car last year.

Dangit... where's the crossed fingers emoji?
Yeah, my main project is gonna take a while. I'm about a year and a half into development, and it's still in the conceptual/foundation building stage. I do have about 2 hours of gameplay down, but only the first 30 minutes are polished. Nevertheless, slow progress is still progress XD

After a minor heart attack, I realize it was just a nearby forklift dropping a bunch of metal scrap into a bin. :p
Man... this medication the dentist prescribed to manage tooth pain is... some serious stuff... I take back my worry about drugs not affecting me. This thing takes about 45 minutes to kick in, but once it does... the pain is completely gone... as are any of my life's worries. Makes me feel absurdly relaxed and strangely euphoric. XD
DEFINITEY not worth $1300/month rent if they won't send someone out to fix the air conditioner 'unless the outdoor temperature is over 80°F'. Nevermind the inside temperature, which is currently 87°F. I can't find this condition anywhere in the lease contract. I contacted a few HVAC services, but none of them can touch apartment complexes.

    It's on. >:\

@gstv87 Way ahead of you. The startup capacitor's out on the condensing unit outside. I can tell it's not charging, but I'm lost as to find the correct rating for a new one. And I've already violated the lease by touching it :\

A lot of medicines can't be kept at those temps for long. I'd note every medicine I have and bill them for replacements for them and say these must be at room temp, since you refused to keep them at room temp you replace them.

    Kanori24
@bgillisp It's bad enough that my bag of Hostess mini donuts melted. I'm not gamng because the heat the computer will add to our dwelling, and we don't want to cook for the same reason. I wrote a complaint describing that just to get a little airflow, we're having to keep windows open which is exposing our dwelling to pollen, small insects, humidity, and the reek of marijuana use :\
Had to call off the surgery (it was dental surgery BTW), but not because of what I admitted in a previous post.
Instead, I can't seem to get approved for paid time off from work, plus I just got slammed with two huge medical bills that insurance wouldn't cover, so now I couldn't afford to have the work done anyway.

You know what, USA? **** your way of treating workers and **** your healthcare!

I'm not sure if this is going to be useful, but maybe you can try to dispute the medical bills. Oftentimes the main reason they are overshot is because they can.

I will because one of them doesnt even acknowledge the $250 copay they took from me. It shows a total due that is less than that, and the insurance paid $0. Im confused as to what the copay even did besides make it difficult to eat for the next two weeks.

I seriously think that is what some of my students hear most of the time. When I ask them a question about something I have repeated multiple times, sometimes within the last few sentences. It would be hilarious if one of them responded that way.
I am a week away from going up against greatest fear... drugs. Not the drugs themself, but the thought that they will not work on me... for a surgical procedure. My life experiences are so extreme and bizzarre that I cant trust the drugs to affect me and properly put me out... really... really scared here :(
    Kanori24
    Kanori24
@Finnuval I have severe insomnia too. I practically have to poison myself with NyQuil or Zzzquil every night to get to sleep. But remember... what I'm actually afraid of is being so different from everyone else, that anesthesia won't work... :o
    Finnuval
    Finnuval
But that's why the anesthesist is there, to make sure what you get is tailored to how you react to it.
My point is I'm different enough that even with the heaviest sleep agents I don't sleep yey anesthesia has always worked because it's guided by a person checking if it's working and adjusting accordingly
    Finnuval
    Finnuval
Guess what I'm saying is there is a safety net in place (the anesthesist) exactly to prevent and adjust to that fear and make sure you're under for the duration.
I know this is probably the worst place to ask, but I'm running out of resources. But... are there any aviators here?
Before you suggest I do the obvious and check aviation forums and subreddits, none of those people respond.
I've been at it for two years trying to find a fellow aviator to talk shop with. :(

Well, I guess mine won't be very helpful. :D
If you're going to fly a helicopter, I recommend using purely keyboard. Mouse allows for precise left to right handling, but not forward/backward tilt. Planes however should be directed with both keyboard and mouse.

@Poryg For flight simming? I have a full yoke, quadrant, pedals, and trackIR for that. I would love to learn rotor flight, but I haven't been able to control a gyro-stabilized RC helicopter yet... :o

Well, I won't be of any use for that I guess. ArmA cold war assault doesn't have drones.
So... looks like I'm NOT gonna be a parent... :(

I'm usually kinda vague on personal matters, but I'll open up for a moment to clarify: We weren't actually pregnant yet. By making the decision to start trying, that was enough for me to feel the joy that I was going to be a parent. But sadly, due to many circumstances, we've had to withdrawal the idea of producing a child.

    Oh, ok. Sorry about misunderstanding.

@Poryg Believe me, if it was so bad we actually lost a developing child before or after birth, I would be at a total lost of words and soul.

I finally beat Tears of the Kingdom! That was legit the best boss fight ever in the entire Zelda series. It has everything: skill, thrill, spectacle, chill,... EVERYTHING.
I have, once again, started something I'm not sure I can finish.

Today I removed a lot of flashing used in many attack animations. Instead there's a deep or shallow rumble (it's more satisfying when the controller rumbles with it anyway). I thought about it ever since I nearly blinded myself in the early morning and because someone brought it up. I also realized I have to redo much of Somewhen's thread...
