Hard work paying off - got a promotion where I'm making comfortable money now and finally able to afford a tiny house! ༎ຶ‿༎ຶ now at my new increased pay rate i can finally afford a decent ride in 6 months
had a breakdown a few weeks back; now just trying to piece myself together and return to work. it's hard when all you hear is negativity and don't have real support... i'm surrounded by money hungry scrubs who don't care about the beauty of art.
Finally got steady work making games for companies now. Woot. But now each game comes with a 6 week timeframe to complete however templates are a godsend and I'm pretty decent in JS. At least these paychecks are going toward a house! Sleepless nights doing 16 hour shifts now, no more homelessness later!
Some people have too strong of an opinion about what maker is the best, I've seen discussions like:
- I prefer VXAce because I like the style of the RTP better than the older releases
- You're worse than Hitler
My number one take away from this game jam is to make small games that are as polished and bug free as possible. Far less dev time, and if the game flops, it matters less because my time investment is much lower. Also, whatever ambitions I have... aim for about 10% of them. They are clearly too high, and will involve stuff that likely won't matter.
