Game developing seems to be a good way to keep one's mind occupied if one suffers from PTSD.

Very true. A good treatment for a lot of stress, I'd say.

Still building the same dang cutscene I started weeks ago... and it's not even anything special. I'm working like a snail these days.

Great. Gotta ice my project for now because of the State's insane welfare policy. How should a person survive getting 100 euros per month in Finland? Outrageous!

That's not very much at all. I guess you could always work on some small projects just for the fun of it, test out some ideas in the meantime or something.

Yeah, I have noticed some issues with my Steam library after updating. Haven't had any problems with Ace however.

A better game, of course :)  I guess it's just as slow (if not slower) as it used to be with more stuff to do now...

Nah, as you learn to do things faster you also start to see how choppy those things are, and will spend the same amount of time working them out to be better and better. Progress is a never-ending cycle of learning how to do things better, as perfection is perpetually unattainable.

I'm glad it's like that. Perfection is stillness, and ultimately quite boring.

@Thalzon Except that getting to the point that you're hungover also means electrolytes are low and you can't absorb the water in the first place, at least not well.

@Thalzon That's good advice, but it doesn't help once you've already gotten a hangover and should be taken before/while getting drunk rather than after. taarna23's advice is more practical, since Labyrinthine is already hungover.

I know. I wouldn't even plan doing that if it was a large scale project like my current one. But it's a smaller game, so I may have a chance to actually complete it in this lifetime.

I'm having severe troubles finding anywhere in my own game. Maybe I should lower the difficulty just a bit or I'm gonna get a bunch of angry and frustrated players :D

Hmmm.. So are you planning to have a very MMO type world where the player can kind of just do what they want while they explore and things?

I'd say the design philosophy is generally closer to the classical action adventure games. Although, in this project of mine there are five worlds and the method of progression is different depending on the world.

        Ohhhh... that sounds super interesting..
I think the only real way to find out is to have lots of friends test it for ya, and get their feedback.

Some people love grinding and some people love exploring.

I know you know this, but thats all i can think of :p

Many people seem assume that the information from NPC:s is never useful. For example, someone just complained that he fell into a trap in my first game, which he thought was unfair because it was not prompted at all. However, just before the area with the trap, there is an unskippable conversation with an NPC where a guard told the player that the ground is littered with cracks, and concludes his statement by saying "don't say I didn't warn you!" SIGH!

^Actually, I think I've already proven the point. My second game is noticeably worse than my first one (I'm really not satisfied with it at all), but it stil gains consistently better reviews just because there are more cutscenes. People want the story to be spoon-fed to them, but paying attention into stuff like NPC dialogues is apparently too much.

Don't worry, it's not just you or games in general. People overall are wanting things given to them with no effort.

Just make a microtransaction-ridden self-playing story, mutter about morons and go home rich? >.>

I am so use to 95+% of NPCs giving useless info (even during the main story where there is much rambling).

So I tend to ignore them til I find evidence of the contrary (which will make me miss a bunch til I get the point).
