And here is a track i did as a commission for a game that will sadly not happen. But i will go for that style for that short game so it gives an idea of how it will sound like!
As expected. Lost all motivation to work on my game. Again. No more big projects for me. I'm unable to follow through. It's useless. Only small projects from now on. And that's it.
Yesterday was mad because a FL studio plugin wasn't designed for small screens, today at work "here is your big screen for 10 euros, sorry for the delay".
Sometimes solutions come at the most unexpected timing.
Life is full of surprises, sometimes very bad ones so I've not been very active which postponed the release of that mini game. Still worked on some stuff on Galiyuka and the sequel of "Hikaru the Doom melody". The sequel will finally be a visual novel. Here is a concept art of the protagonist, Utari, a young kind-hearted Indonesian girl.
This language cooking-up business all started like "let's make up some words in their dialogs, gonna add flair" to "should they use conjunctions or not? Is the grammar viable without conjunctions? Should they have one or multiple words for "big"? Oh let's try to make multiple adjectives related to the same subject work this way!" It escalated quickly. But it's fun!!
My birthday bash game Hikaru the Doom Melody which was based on resentment will have a sequel, "Utari the lovely melody" which instead will be based on empathy, understanding and compassion. Finally got ideas on how to pull this off! Will take place in Indonesia!
If there is one thing I always strive to polish a max in my games and where I tend to be a perfectionist, it's the dialogues. I spent an awful lot of time writing that part, researching how to make these skeletons sounding as ridiculously well-mannered as I could.
Guess the best way to get back running after years of hiatus is to make a short single game with an albeit unusual gameplay.
So far , it's called "Show Nen!!!" and yeah, it's based on the cookie cutter shonen plot. But of course it has a twist as I LOVE to subvert expectations.
This community may have its flaws, like every community, but overall, i think it's really one of the most welcoming and helpful one I've ever seen, back in the 2010's and now. It makes me happy and brightens my day. Lots of love to you all <3
I've figured out how to implement abilities into Snapdrake. My fav is prolly Hell or High Water, considering its essentially "go big or go home" the ability.
