  • Beautiful weather yet again! It's a few minutes past 10 here in Orlando, and I can't wait to pack my bags and head to Fort Myers tomorrow! I'm going to work on my game while I wait...
The weather is still cool here! Dad is washing my clothes and the dishes, and meanwhile I'm working a little on Fandom Scouts. Fandom Scouts is about some of the big fandoms I'm a part of, who live in harmony in the City of Dreams. Then the forces of Dark Deception are freed... now Funtime Chica, Frisk, Bendy, and Cuphead must stop them!

Last time I drove past Fort Myers was on my way to Corkscrew Swamp Sanctuary.
That's a baby gator that was in the lettuce lake :)
Didn't have enough zoom on the phone

@zzmmorgan I zoomed in myself and spotted the gator. He's cute! No doubt he'll grow up to be a ferocious predator though!
@Finnuval Trust me, I sure will! I'll be working on my game during down time, though. ;)
After last night's storm, the weather became cool and windy here in Orlando. I took a bike ride around the community and looked for the infamous alligator that roams our ponds. Nada.
I hope I get to Maki Hibachi before I go home next week to celebrate Mom's birthday on the 22nd. After the party I plan to return to Orlando for Thanksgiving.

@zzmmorgan Trust me, as a Florida resident, I know how dangerous alligators are. Ours is a small gator, but people are warned to keep their distance. I usually stand on a bridge and zoom in to get a better shot if I want to take pictures.
@BloodletterQ I might not work at a theme park, but being outside in that weather must be awfully stressful. I don't want to deal with it!

you ought to go to Myakka some time if you like taking pictures of gators. There's a couple of spots where at times you can literally see HUNDREDS of them at a time :)
First time I ever saw a gator up close was caught one fishing in a canal by lake Okeechobee.

@zzmmorgan No doubt I'll make that a part of my bucket list! I do like taking pictures of gators, but also other wildlife. We have woods on the other side of Dad's community and sometimes I'll see deer, rabbits, and on rare occasions, armadillos. It's always fun to ride my bike around the community--I never know what I'll see!
It's raining here now, with a little thunder. At least I got to Aquatica this morning to swim, do some water slides, and watch the dolphins! One of the slides went through the aquarium, so I got to see the dolphins up close. We also watched the trainers feed them before we went home. It's night now, so I'm going to bed soon...

Dolphins are amazing. Some of them like to play rough though and they have SHARP teeth. As a result some of their playing results in scars. However I've not known them to get that rough with people - just each other.....

Color me a bit jealous! :D Are you on a vacation, or do you have some kind of annual pass to a local Aquatica that lets you use it all the time?

@Wavelength I'm visiting my dad in Orlando. We do stuff like this a lot, unless there's a particular virus invading the plans. Dad and I haven't seen each other in person since my PTSD treatment began, although I saw him on Zoom during family therapy. I actually live in South Florida, so I can take the Amtrak Silver Star or Silver Meteor up to Orlando. It's only a few hours away.
I had lots of fun! Kids loved me, and some took pictures. Unfortunately, the videos didn't send... but you'll see Chica in action when I do a trailer for Fandom Scouts!
Dad's watching a WWII documentary while I work on some cool assets for my games. I just love RPG Maker!
Also Happy Halloween! Dad's friend won't be coming unfortunately, but Dad will still be taking me to Boxi Park to have some fun tonight! I'll be posting a video on my YouTube channel of the show, and I'll be sure to post a link here.
Tomorrow is Halloween! I can't wait to go to Boxi Park and show off my costume! Also one of Dad's friends is staying the night, so he might get to see the show.

    Oh and have fun XD
Got the scam again this morning... Maybe a tirade will work better.
Anyway, I'm taking off for Orlando tomorrow. My train leaves at 1:27 and the Wi-Fi on the train is TERRIBLE. Of course, I can't wait to see Dad. I haven't seen him since PTSD treatment. Maybe he'll take me to Aquatica after Halloween!
Lol. Just got an Apple support scam... is that a thing now? Well, I trolled them good. I played "H.O.L.I.D.A.Y." by The Wiggles and then told them that the supposed victim wasn't at the call center anymore. He was confused so I let it slip that I knew the scam. He hung up on me.
Tired of scammers? Just troll them. They'll run for the hills.
I'm going to schedule my shuttle to the train station today... after I vote. It's not a pleasant thing to do, since I hate politics. So much negative talk. I can see why it's not allowed here. But about the shuttle. My county has a service called PalmTran, and it's really convenient. They pick you up at your home and drop you off where you need to be. Just give them a date and time.
I'm working on Juzu the Fox right now and had a great idea. I'll try to add Crystal Temples to the game! These function a lot like the ring pieces and their barriers in Dark Deception, holding the realm together. After finding all the key charms, you must enter the Crystal Temple and defeat the beast guarding it.
I always told my DA fans how much I hate slot machines. They're fine in games as a risk-and-reward system. But when you're spending REAL MONEY in a Vegas casino to try and hit the jackpot (which very, very few people will), it can really hurt your budget. Gambling is a bad habit, and I don't like wasting my money on a slim chance. Go to Vegas for the experience, not the jackpot.

@bgillisp I don't really go to casinos anymore, but I do play the lottery on rare occasions. The first time I played, I got a scratch-off ticket, and ended up winning $20. Not bad, considering the ticket was about $2. And being a sensible person, I prefer to spend my money on things that really matter, and play the lotto on special occasions.

See mine is because I'm hanging out with friends and they wanted to go to the casino. I'll then spend like $1 - $5 or so, sometimes I break even, sometimes I lose it, sometimes I win.

@bgillisp That would be me if I ever went to a casino with friends.
Still no scam calls all day... also I got a quick gig designing a mascot drawing for a small business, so I might actually make some green of my own after all. That would be a perfect job for me, since I love art and digital design.

Nice! Not only some green, but an addition to your portfolio. Win win, congrats! Logo design is fun...there's something special about trying to condense the idea of an entire team/company/school/etc... into a single symbol.

@akoniti I know! It's almost therapeutic for me...
Update... no scam calls all day. I think they learned their lesson. And I'm working on a fake anti-piracy video, featuring a fan game I'm making in MV. If I had the permission to make the game a licensed game that I could sell (rather than having it totally free like fan games are required to be), I'd use a really cool anti-piracy screen...

I have a lot of scam call in my homephone. That is great to know that you reduce the annoying phone call.

@Kupotepo Yep. Yesterday I decided to rage at the scammer rather than ignoring the call, and the coast is still clear after a full day of shopping, designing, playing Angry Birds Blast, and listening to podcasts. Not one scammer called to ask me about my car warranty. Guess my tirade put me on their blacklist of numbers not to call.
I get scam calls all the time so today I gave them a piece of my mind. They hung up on me. Sweet revenge.

The sad thing on those scam calls is they're spoofing caller ID so if you call the number back you get some poor innocent confused person if anything at all..... people are far too trusting that the caller ID isn't lying. I can't tell you how many times it appears I'm calling myself.......

You should tell them you got a 2020 Edsel. That was discontinued ages ago. Or just make up a bogus name that sounds convincing. Sure, I got a Ford Fusana DX.

The scammer was actually one of those. I know the spoofing trick when I see it because my number still has an old area code from where I used to live. And TBH, I find it way more fun to put them on "hold" by placing the phone by the computer speaker and playing old songs by The Wiggles. (I grew up with them and think Get Ready to Wiggle is perfect for trolling. I've done it before.)
I confirmed my train ticket yesterday. I'll be heading to Orlando on the 29th... last time I went, I found this little treasure!
Today I had a little happy flashback to when my grandpa and I played doctor in his living room. We were visiting him in Tampa. I was about seven years old and my parents were out on an errand, so grandpa and I decided we would spend the night pretend playing. I miss him so much...
TRIVIA: I love Japanese food and culture! I've never been to Japan, but someday I'm going to go to Tokyo and do some touring, including Disneyland Tokyo and DisneySea! And I even prepared myself for earthquake safety.

@Riazey I just have to try them then! I have quite the sweet tooth.

LOL Babymetal is a trip. I stumbled across them thanks to the way Youtube tries to match you up with music you might like. I think it's horribly confused since I like a LOT of different things including Babymetal :)
Those kittens I met the other day all found loving homes. I might miss playing with them, but I'm glad they found owners to care for them. In the meantime, my Orlando trip is likely to happen on the 29th. While I wait for that, I'll be working on Angel of Justice...

@KakonComp Indeed... while eating a Japanese take on fruit crepes! The Japanese restaurants that serve crepes put a wafer layer on the bottom as a structural element, so I put vanilla wafers on my crepe. Isn't that a clever take?
Okay, I've decided to limit myself to one post in the morning and one in the evening, so not to break the rules again. If you want more frequent updates and a little peek into my game design and cosplay life, please follow me on DeviantArt:

Indeed! I think two days ago when the admin pointed out the rules, I kind of got a little too comfortable. Of course now I can always wait until I have something interesting to post rather than going blah, blah, blah about little things that don't really matter.
I hope you follow me on DA, though. If not, I'll put more points of interest here as they get posted there.

I haven't used DA in forever lol; don't even remember the password or email I used. Could always make a new one under my current moniker. Pixel art is still art after all and I do a bit of sewing sometimes.

Also, blah, blah, blahs can be interesting too :LZSwink:

@KakonComp I do plenty of blah-ing on DeviantArt, but I'd rather save posts here for when something really awesome happens or when I have something to say related to game development.

Working on a "dual tech" for two characters... it ends like the Raging Demon move from the Street Fighter games. The kanji sign here being "Lose". gotta tweak some things, but it looks pretty cool in game so far. love putting so many fighting game references in here since that and rpgs are my two favorite genres.
I've been thinking about making a tutorial on "how to draw digital art". I wonder how many are interested. It won't be anything fancy like color theory or anatomy. Just a technical on how to get things done such as how to use layer and other tools. To make it accessible, it is aimed at mouse users rather than pen tablet/display owners.
A new enemy approaches...

Ok, I finished updating my Bestiary Book. The only reason I can think of enemies having a second weakest to a spell is that the player might not have access to the more powerful version. Not that the spell is more powerful in itself but against certain enemies.
