  • Wow, what a hectic week I've had so far. I'm pretty sure I caught up with everything but it's almost strange how slowly time is moving now.

Time so rarely moves slowly for working adults, so enjoy it while it lasts, because it won't.

Yeah. It's been so "Work, sleep. Work, sleep." And, I was unwell most of the week. Had to keep going. At least I barely had time to notice feeling ill.
I need 4 AA batteries but only have 3. Why, cruel world? Time to go scavenge my remotes and TI-84s.

Yeah, that just seems like a strange amount of batteries to use; never mind that most packs of batteries are not divisible by three. Right now I'm not entirely sure why a Swiffer Wet Jet needs four batteries but I'm not going another day without mopping my floor.

The world needs less things that take AA batteries and more that use AAA.

I always have a ton of AAA batteries, but AA batteries are used up so fast.

At least Gameboys don't need disposable batteries anymore. See under: Reasons I was an expensive child for my parents.
    Minor annoyances #1: I really need a new surge protector because the coffee pot keeps overloading it and I have to turn it back on several times. c;

I used to live in a small apartment... where you COULD NOT EVER have the microwave and toaster on at one time. Otherwise a breaker would overload and shut off.  This were the days. :p was some 20 years ago and THEN they were 70 years old (with ONE outlet in each room)!

See, my building was built in 2000 so I think they just need to ask the electrical contractor for a refund.

You sure one of the items isn't faulty?  We had an issue with an iron, a jug and a heater - whenever all 3 were on at the same time, the safety switch would go off.  Turns out the heater had an electrical fault.
Few things genuinely anger me but seeing someone dump trash right onto the ground does. I guarantee the trash can is not far away. *rabble, rabble, rabble*

Erg.... actually the thing that infuriated me the most on that matter is a day I camped with friends at a thermal lake with source water heated by some hot stuff.
People were coming there to shower USING SHOWER GEL. SERIOUSLY.

Yeah, it's beyond my understanding as well and one of the very rare things that can really make me want to punch a face or two.
I now understand why new moms wear their hair up all the time. My nephew is sad that I took his new "toy" away.

You know Sakura card captor? My daughter was more like "Sakura glasses captor". My newborn son is more like "the t-shirt shredder" grabbing it and pulling as hard as he can.

My kids were particularly fond of taking me and wife's glasses.  I'm glad they don't do that anymore.
Been hanging out with my family all weekend. Catching up, playing board cards, and had a feast last night. Lots of fun but I'm exhausted, stuffed, and my main goal today is to not eat chocolate cake for breakfast.

That sounds really interesting. Did you just mix it up with the coconut milk you usually use?

I bet it would taste even better with the coconut milk! But this time I just used milk. Considering I usually hate the taste of raw tomato, this smoothie wasnt too bad. The mint leaves helped a lot :)

But chocolate cake for breakfast is the dream!
Personally, I'd rather have a panini maker.

Deli cuts on warm, golden-brown, buttery chibatta. Gooey cheese. And dipppppppppping sauce.
You know. I know it's still early evening but it's a weekday and we get up at 4:30AM. I really do not want to feel your sub bass coming through my walls. From across the building no less!

Last time someone tried to do this to me, I did put my alarm the next day at 2 am and blasted them a grindcore song or two. Never heard them again. :D
Does anyone else stare intensely at an object(s) and then daydream about some convoluted way you can accidentally injure yourself because of it? Please tell me I'm not this silly.

I actually spend a lot of time staring at objects and imagining how they might kill me, but at work that kind of makes sense since I work in a machine shop and many of the objects have killed (or at least seriously injured) someone before.  I'm also on the safety committee at work, so they kind of encourage me to do that.

@The Infamous Bon Bon If I went into the shop at work a lot more often, I'm sure I would feel the same way. I'm pretty sure I felt that way through the ENTIRE trip through one of the sites we support, now that I think of it.
Cold. Always cold. Thermostat suggests that I should not be cold. I'd be perfectly happy sitting inside a volcano.

It's apparently about 22.5C (72.5F) in here. On goes the sweater and I am going to wrap my hands around a mug of hot chocolate.

I have it about 21C/70F in here. But sweater, sweatpants, hat, thick socks, slippers. Peppermint tea. XD

I'd say work might get upset at me running around in slippers, but then I recall the people that go about in flip flops or sock feet... XD
I really would have loved to get some decent work done today, yet here I am reinstalling Finale again. (Sibelius looking sweeter every day). I also feel a little headache-y. So, I will not tempt the migraine. No, ma'am.

I have a pretty extended prodromal phase and I tend to get a sinus headache, or just really bad sinus pressure before the migraine. I only get visual aura sometimes, though I mostly only get aphasia. Worst thing ever is vertigo/fainting. That only happens with my absolute cataclysmic, scorch the Earth migraines though.

Aphasia? Yikes. I'll take the visual aura... Although I do remember cataclysmic migraines, I tend to get many smaller ones that can be mitigated provided I take the right painkillers at the beginning of the aura. Nothing, however, mitigates the brain-melty exhaustion, which sucks.

Yes, you feel really hungover even after they're over! >: (
We're going back to our 4AM wake up call tomorrow. Perhaps with getting up at dawn tomorrow I'll beat everyone at looting all the discount chocolate from the grocery.

The best easter was when I worked the shift that comes in early to put up those sale signs and I got to scout out all the deals before the doors were even open.

Pretty sure the managers would just pick out the good stuff for themselves at the store I worked at. We only ever had Peeps and generic jelly beans left. It's like c'mon! At least be the Starburst ones.
Yes, bed time. Sleep time! No plans tomorrow. No alarm. Just going to see what happens. Will probably wake up before 6AM anyway because I'm cursed.

Made it until 7AM. Not exactly early (for me), so I'll take it. Hope you had a bit more luck than I did!
Phew! Two songs done. Getting a good run down on cleaning the house done before I go back in for round two. I'm on a roll. Yeaaaaaah.
Ever had a dream that seemed it should have been a nightmare, but then it just didn't scare you? Had a pretty bizarre zombie dream last night and it was more intriguing than terrifying.

My new level features a Jellyfish character who cannot love, because he electrocutes everything he touches.
I prefer single roommates. After a hard day, all you want is sleep. I went to bed at 12. I was awakened at 2 because of my roommate laughing and whispering and stuff with her boyfriend on the phone. I didn't want to yell at her so I had to bear that cringy lovey dovey convo for half an hour, before I got so bored that I fell asleep again.
