How closely does it play to Kingdom Hearts?  That was my question the second I saw that game.

Face value it seems to be identical only clunkier. Hands on it feels totally different and extremely smooth. I was very skeptical at first but it plays out like a totally unique game.

Just wondering if when I buy RMMV from steam if it comes with latest version or you have to manually update.

Steam updates its software automatically. You'll need to manually update existing projects, but it doesn't matter where you buy it, you'd need to do that anyway.

Working on my game from a linear stand point, focusing on just creating a rough draft and placeholders of the written story, from there I can continue bug testing and filling out the content that really matters. Its a long journey ahead, and frankly I havent gotten enough done, real life has been hectic. But I am motivated and not just going to try but I am going to do it. I making a goal to spend one hour producing stuff for my game every day. I can do more but one hour I am going to be doing new content or improving old content! Lets go RMWEB! Keep trucking and keep doing your own thing!

Ladies and gentlemen I have figured out something to do with my story! No spoilers for you and yes its kind of cliche but hell at least I can get going now! Even though its cliche its still semi original as well! Whoo hoo! I hope my game doesnt suck! Good night RM!

LOL that hockey stick gave me some ideas @Amysaurus! It was just an expression @Yuuta Kirishima! @ShinNessTen I suck at writing stories! Well I have given this like 48 hours of thought, feeling better about the game and how I will tell the character driven story through actions in the game. However the story of my game is still lacking. I always comeback to and then they get the 4 crystals. I am lacking goals or an objective to the game. Or a single sentence that describes the point of it all.

Anyway I will work it out no worries but any ideas or glitter covered hockey sticks are welcome!

Can anyone point me to a thread discussing how to come up with an overall gameplot, a way to organize and map it out, to successfully create a fun and cohesive rpg storyline?

Well, my friend, if there was a consensus about all those things you've pointed in your request, every single failed title in the gaming industry would have become a success.

If I may give you an advice, start by reading some game design literature. My suggestion is "Level Up! the Guide to Great Video Game Design" by the great Scott Rogers. It's my bedside book about game design.

"The Art of Game Design: A Deck of Lenses, Second Edition" by Jesse Schell is another one. It's more dense than the other, though (And I never finished it, but it has a very good way of showing things using an idea of "lenses", where every game design concept is a lens that show you something. It was a suggestion from a great friend which is also a great coder and indie game designer).

So you gave up on your dream of making the game feel like Final Fantasy 4 and made a Persona Dance Dance Revolution?

That's some Top Kek sheep! lmao

I love video games, and I wish I was better at creating them! Solo projects are tough I am hoping to find the will to continue my project.
