  • I'm not superstitious, but I almost don't want to start anything new today because every other little thing seems to be going wrong today. I was gonna offer my services on the Project Recruitment board, but then I went to check out examples of offer posts and well...

    Well, it is officially the next day in my time zone so I went ahead and submitted it. So hopefully it's not cursed! :rswt

    I hope you have success. I guess I missed a lot of the drama on that board since I don't have any real helpful skills to offer and my service in the NAVY taught me a valuable lesson. Never Again Volunteer Yourself. Just kidding. Sort of.

    Now that I’ve slept… It’s important to consider how you angle a recruitment, too. If you angle yourself as “Looking for Experience!” …you will get a much different reaction than, “Perfect For Any Job!” If someone has intermediate work but is looking for experience. THAT MAKES SENSE!
    Trying to figure out how to make traversal more interesting between the tutorial fight and the "dungeon"... or maybe I could cut out the overworld section altogether? I've got ideas for the endings, but it's the beginning that needs ironing out right now!

    You could make a post in Game Ideas maybe? People here love giving their suggestions :p I think there are already a few ''should I have an overworld'' ones that might have some good info. Prolly some ''How to make overworld interesting'' ones too :p

    Ah, I hate making intros too. I would suggest cutting the overworld.

    I think I've gotten past the "no idea what I'm doing" stage and into the "solving puzzles" stage of programming. I still don't feel all that confident in my abilities though. :rswt

    On the plus side, I have discovered there are multiple rubber-duck-themed "chatbots" out there for debugging. It has already assisted me greatly!

    @NekoCassowary Even the events and event commands and everything in RPG Maker and how they work and plugins and all that is technically programming, and it takes a little while even to learn how simple stuff like THAT works-or at least until you do the tutorials for them and hopefully immediately after understand exactly how to make them work like me. I think I was lucky I learn so quickly.
    So I accidentally wrote a whole outline for a novel in one evening... but it is actually related to my current RMMV project! Huzzah!
    Finally grabbed a Yanfly plugin purely for the Lunatic Mode settings. Does that make me a lunatic? :rswt

    You could be building a very solid case here. :p
    Just kidding. :D
    Alright
    Alright
    Maybe that's why you're labeled a lunatic if you use a middleman when you don't need one.

    To be fair using the built-in damage formula isn't exactly ideal since Autobattle/AI might evaluate and run the code to check which is the best skill to use
    Sometimes I think I should just focus on my current project, but other times I think, "What if I wrote another novella? Or even a full length novel?" Maybe I can do both, or maybe I'll collapse under the weight of both projects, or just drop one...

    I just suspect you're trying to impress us with your multiple skills.
    Feel free to stop doing that and take it easy! :D

    No, see, my brain is legitimately all over the place and I'm too stubborn to accept help so I try to do everything myself... :kaoswt2:
    Though, to be fair, I've gotten a couple offers from people willing to help on my RMMV project (for music and art, both of which I find somewhat tedious) and at this point I could sure use the lessened workload!

    Do it all, and then collapse. Live like an actual star.
    Wanted to see if I could draw in an anime style and it turns out I can! (Just wanted to doodle a thing for a new D&D character of mine.)
    (so, uh. I guess imgur doesn't work here anymore?)

    I'm actually having fun learning about JavaScript now. I guess all it took was the right motivation!
    Man... Does anyone else get completely exhausted after finishing a big creative endeavor? I'm struggling to stay awake at work, more than usual. :kaoslp:
    Not gonna get any work done on my game tonight - I'll be busy DMing my (final?) session of my D&D homebrew campaign! :kaopride:

    (Also, I am slowly but surely stumbling through the actual game design. Yesterday I came to the staggering, surely revolutionary conclusion that giving my players abilities would result in more interesting gameplay, because apparently I forgot to do that.)
    Just wanted to pop in to say your avatar is very pretty :wub

    Is she one of your characters?

    Thanks! ^^ It was a commissioned work so I can't claim the art, or course - I believe the artist goes by grossgiirl.

    As for the question, well, it's complicated... :kaoswt2: She's just my author avatar, which means she kind of exists in my world, but as an outside force - as such, she probably isn't going to appear in-game (except maybe in an error screen!)
    Still boggling a little that JavaScript has objects and can be written in an object-oriented way. I definitely need to study more...

    Pros in JS: You don't have to decide the variable type
    Cons in JS: You don't have to decide the variable type

    As someone who eats C#/VB and SQL for breakfast every weekday, I would say C# is easier to learn if you want to maintain legacy code. JS and other interpreter languages, however, you don't know what is going on without fully understanding the context. Good for personal projects, a nightmare if you want to pass it to the next coder.

    My favourite part of Javascript will always be producing illegal code that somehow still works.
    Code:
    var x = 5;
    x.y = 3;
    if (x.z == 5) console.log("foo");
    if (x.y) console.log("bar");

So I was thinking about putting in Weapon Synthesis like the Cooking system I got going but after all these recipes I've been putting in the item log and common events for the past week and a half I'ma say no on that one chief

those shops and chests are working just fine lmao
Just watched Godzilla Minus One.
As a Godzilla fan, I loved it. Acting was a little rough, and I thought the ending was cheap, but overall, great!
Could have used more plot.
Plot. I demand more fanservice!

I should do a Photoshop with "Everyone Loves Reimond" and just stick Rei in the middle where Raymond's face would be.
