  • Uh... so, old HDD corrupted some random tileset, except I don't think I actively used it anywhere, apart from testing with it, but while playing it keeps failing to load it on a map totally unrelated to it...

    Copy a tileset and put it as placeholder i do this when the engine wont shut up about it while i test/fix other stuff
    If only RM had the capability to show whether a project has been edited, or not... like 99% of all other editors out there. That don't cost, too, or release new versions with very few features just to get the extra money... ugh, just too many basic features missing even after, what, two decades?

    What benefit would you gain from knowing whether a project had been edited or not outside of the current functionality? If there are changes it asks you when you go to test play whether you want to save it; it doesn't ask that if nothing has changed, so in a way it *does* tell you it's been edited.

    It does while trying to close too, but it's always indirect... if it showed it it would save me from unnecessarily closing it (or playtesting for no reason)... but most software indicates this with a *, which surely isn't a lot to ask for from software where a lot can be edited...
    Just realized RM doesn't have 'save as', with someone asking about it in 2013... it's, like, no matter how many versions are released, with their very few added features, depths could always be plumbed in the well of how many basic functions this software lacks...

    Why, WHY cant we have a bigger shadow pen?! Imagine somebody with a massive map trying to shade the whole thing T_T
    I dont think you need the Save as function tho. You can change games name from system and you have to rename the folder yourself.
    I wonder why movement routes can't face towards events...

    They actually can, it just needs to be through a script call in said movement route.

    There's actually quite of bit in the way of variables and functions that can only easily be accessed by script calls. A lot of them are the same between MV and MZ. as well.

I've been on a really good streak lately of working on my game for at least a little bit each day. Even if I only complete one small task, it is still a much better pace than what I was maintaining previously!
