  • Woes of being too lazy:
I would like to have a tool that allows me to preview UI changes I make live, so I can be more lazy.
I'm too lazy to make one myself.

you're not "too lazy"... most craft trades have seen the result of every input in real time since the beginning.
it's only when you require slow chemistry or complex calculations that the delay between input and result becomes significant.
I mean, there's a reason why *printing the lighting onto the model* in 3D art is referred to as "baking" the lighting.

I admire your dedication to laziness.
Anyone wants a tutorial on creation of Non-Euclidean maps?

You mean a tiny house house on the map that when you enter the interior is 20x the size of the exterior? I think I can just ask the beginner RMers for advice. Jokes aside, might be interesting depending on execution.

My understanding of the term non-Eulidean is things like M.C. Escher's Relativity, when Lovecraft describes the city of R'lyeh in Call Of Cthulhu, the style of the sets and cinematography The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari, and Black Mage discussing why seeing him without his hat on causes insanity in 8-Bit Theater.

I meant something akin to Antichamber game but in 2d.
How large is too large if it comes to map size for parallax mapping?

For who or for what? The mapper? The player? The game? The hard drive?

For the player, and both PC and mobile.

The total file size per map needs to include all overlays etc. It's not just the size of the file, which can be compressed for downloading, but how much RAM it takes once loaded. General rule of thumb 50x50 tiles for mobile, 150x150 tiles for PC. Even that might be too much for some players.
I wonder which plugin do you use if it comes to parallax mapping?

It depends on what you need to do with your parallax maps, really.

I've been doing a bunch of research, and for the most part, I really like Galv's Layer Graphics plugins for MZ and MV (here and here respectively) because of the flexibility it offers. This is my favorite tutorial on the matter:
I wonder if anybody has ever tried making infinite scrolling (infinite map) plugin for rpg maker.

I don't remember if a plugin like this already existed, but just in case, I'll do it anyway.

Add a professional touch to your game by requiring users to accept the typical license agreement that obviously no one reads, but it doesn't matter xd

And yes, you must get to the bottom of the text for the Accept button to be enabled, otherwise it makes no sense haha
It would be kind of brutal, but I lowkey want to add in a secret boss battle against a literal bucket, just so that if you use the kick attack on it, it says "[character] kicks the bucket," and drops you down to like 1 HP.
There the rituals are now completely in place and the player can free three trapped souls from the mansion, and face the good ending boss.

No screen shots from my main project today. I've been spending all my game dev time of that jam entry...
