  • Trying to make a quite generic fantasy rpg (the scifi one is mostly on paper, fleshing out world and stuff)... Talking mechanics: how about making combat all about managing your elemental affinites on the fly! just a little idea.
Okay, I've been overreacting about the new law issue. It is not currently going to congress, it's in one of the pre stages if I'm correct (no idea how that works in the US). If enough people make clear that they don't want it, it won't pass. End of story. Like it did in 2006 and 2008. (been doing some more research). I was just worried about how it could affect the RM community, that's all. Omega Weapon signing out on this issue.

A change in copyright law in the US. It turned out to be false however.

I only know that YouTube and DeviantArt went wild over it.

To be clear: No new law is passing, RM community is safe. And RM Web is not really the place to discuss it anyways. Just wanted to get this out there. Nothing to worry about.

Dalph's right, it isn't worth worrying about in the end, America's legal system is so broken right now that an entire branch of government has been rendered completely redundant while the other two both illegally perform said branches duties without challenge. Just stop taking the political jokers seriously, because they blew through any and all resources they could use to actually enforce such laws long ago.
    The Stranger
Didn't they try to pass a similar law a year or so ago?
Okay, it's been a while, but is there gonna be some more of that Ralph vs. Evil Overlord?

    Nah... you'd just crit! (it's a d100 system)

If you read how damage calculations and stuff works in real pokémon, which isn't all that complicated, you find that the accuracy and stuff, is computing stuff with percentages. So yeah, let's use the percentile die/d100.
So I said to myself, I'm gonna write a sci fi rpg... and I lost inspiration... already

I said the same thing, and now I'm working on one.

Hmm... I could make an oldskool dungeon crawler type thingy, or just a really fun retro rpg. Have to work something out.

I've read a study (in French) about music and how it helps while working. One should pay attention to the genre though. Lyrics, especially of an unheard song, can prevent the brain from working with text-related stuff. No problem with arts though, which does not need the language part of the brain to be mobilized.
Fix one bug, create three more... ugh, life of a programmer (I'm in ICT education now)

Didn't share this yet, my bad: I bought myself a copy of FFV Advance last weekend. The only one they had was sealed, but hey, 50 euros well spent.
Going to Dutch Comic Con next weekend, yay!

Totally didn't read "Dutch" in that status the first 3 times I read it. I started to panic. "OH NOES! MISSED IT ALREADY?!?!?!?!?"

Yay, computer had to be reset. I have an image of before the reset, as in ONE HOUR. however, when mounting the image, the laptop asks for a recovery disc. Problem is: My laptop doesn't have a disc drive! I do have a boot-stick however, which should be able to act as my recovery disc. Problem 2: My laptop is stubborn as hell!

(it doesn't want to recognize the boot-stick as a disc)

For anyone who didn't see my post yesterday, let's just say that I tried to make a plugin and it went horribly wrong. I was so far off base I think I was in another ballpark. But hey, I still learned a couple of things. Even if one of them was to leave the plugin stuff to the experts and big boys/girls/people of pluginy persuasion. :LZSlol:

Finals are approaching, feeling very "breezy" right now :KEKW:
Mostly distracting myself with more work on adding visual distinction to a map.
there's been various points where my game was actually frontview. I think I'm gonna go back to that actually. One reason I'm almost at the 5 year mark (come April) with this project is literally I just have to keep drawing stuff. So I think if I do what I'm thinking of with frontview, that'll save a LOT of time.
