I'm starting to hear the voices of my characters in my mind. The desire to use vocal actors is, as of now, not possible, due to the exploding nature of your budget when hiring voice actors...
Most of my testers are saying the same thing. Stuck between a game and a TV show, I need to pick one. The Prologue will remain partially interactive. All future "episodes" will likely be fully automated, television show style.
The first person to play through my "Visual Novel" wasn't a gamer at all, but a devout reader. Getting "major kudos" from a non-gamer has ignited drive to continue.
After working through the entire weekend on pure inspiration, the Prologue Visual Novel is now mostly complete, and better than I had hoped. It's shine and polish time!
Two days of total obsession and the most important parts of the visual novel are in place. Everything else from here is just gloss and shine...and I still can't rest...

Pokemon AI Logic: "Enemy is weak to Fire, I better use Rain Dance to make fire type moves less effective. I should just always cast Rain Dance first no matter what, even though it's a niche move that I'm not set up to exploit."
After a little test with the parallax mapping, found it lags like a cat on a leash. Instead of the original idea to parallax map the entirety of the ship, I guess I'll settle for editing the tilesets. Probably should have done that first.
