  • I had one goal when I set out to make my Game Jam game. It didn't have to be super good and the game didn't have to have the best writing - it just had to NOT CRASH.

So yeah, someone was streaming it and it crashed.
I can't seem to upload my game to the Jam. It just says "There are no projects on your account that you can submit to this jam. Please create a new project or publish an existing one from the links below." (Quick note: I did Publish the game like it said to)

Wait, I may already be submitted. Poor Mikey is so new to all this.

You should probably ask on the forum - in the thread for the Jam if that sort of question is allowed there.

@Shaz Yeah, I ended up doing that when I realized the forums exist.
I may have to just submit my game unfinished. I mean the story is done if not a bit unrefined but my test player hasn't finished their testplay and notes. I'll have to fix what they've already told me.

But.... You did finish and in time xD

Yes, but I wasn't able to get full feedback. My true nightmare right now is that there's some sort of glitch that I didn't see in my playthrough that causes a catastrophic failure in the game!

@Aslanemperor i did have full feedback but that is always a concern.
I'm still not satisfied with the battles in my game. They always feel either to easy or hard - and I'm almost certain bosses have to many hit points, but there comes a time when you MUST say "I need another person's opinion" so my game is being sent into the testing phase. I'll cross my fingers.

I think too easy is still better than too hard.
If battle is not the main focus of the game,
it's even better to choose easier battle. :D

    I agree with @EpicFILE .
Also good Luck and hope they dont find a million bugs xD

Balancing is tough especially when the game should be difficult enough to challenge but easy enough for the dev to beat it without abusing the mechanics since the dev knows everything.
It's unlikely this game can be finished in an hour, not that it's super long - it's just not an hour long. Still it's the game I have been making for the Jam and that's how it's gonna go.

Doesn't matter. If that's the game you made its the game you made. If you feel good about it it is. XD

Your game can be longer, it just will be judged on that first hour.
The games story/dialogue is a little rough around the edges, but I am almost done. Just gotta finish the enemies and tweak battle junk and that should be it. I'll have my brother test play it and then fix up the rough edges if I have time (or post jam if time does not permit). [dances]
On the title screen I accidentally have it say "Presented by BroCoG" instead of "Created by BroCoG" - I know it's a small thing, but it's gonna be annoying to fix. There is a distinction between presenting something and having created it. Still maybe I should just leave it as is.

Heh-heh. I snuck in a little secret "bad" ending you can get in my game jam game since it only took a second to make. I won't say more since the game will be available to the public post-jam for free, but I consider it a cute if not sad ending.
Sleep will not stop me. I am making great progress in the game, but I'm reaching the part where I'll need to prepare enemies and balance the game soon. Wish me luck.
Remember: Yer outer buildings don't have to reflect exact sizes of the inner ones as long as there is an acceptable amount of consistency.

I'm not going to lie, as a joke I fully intend to spawn in a small hut now and have it open up to a whole dungeon. Should be a fun prank for the credits map. XD

@ImaginaryVillain : Star Trail did that, the final dungeon of the game was accessed by a house in the town. Though they did have you go down really fast, but then you entered this 3 level dungeon. Wonder how they fit it under the town with no one noticing?

It's not about building it under a town and them not noticing. It's about the 4-D Chess route of building the dungeon, then building the town over it so no one is the wiser. ;)
Crap - since I can't figure out how to remove the face blocks in the menu I gotta figure something else out. :(

Sadly no. I'm sure there is a way, but in the end I was forced to give up on that. I may revisit it in the future so if you figure it out maybe you could give me a shout.
I've been sick for so long and am so rusty. I still hurt so much. Regardless hello everyone ~ Michael of BroCoG! ^_^

I do not know what going on with you, but I hope the illnesses would be gone soon.
[sigh] my brother can't use his RPG Maker MV on windows 10 and it appears to be because of an update for Windows 10. Stupid Windows 10.

I have Windows 10, and it runs on my computer just fine. I don't see what could be the issue

Yeah their fall update broke more than half of my steam games, it's infuriating how quickly technology moves so far that it just shuns support for past programs these days, with games less than 10 years old suddenly becoming unplayable unless they are moddable or you hack them.

Wanted to look through job ads and now I spent about an hour laughing about the website of a spiritual healer looking for a Marketing and IT guy. Call me oldfashioned, but I think that "healing of deceaseds" comes a little late.
Workin' hard! Wish I was hardly workin'...
One of these days, I will have no more errors.
The tutorial streak is going on, learn something about cave edits today!

Something is working in my game, and I have no idea how or why. It wasn't working yesterday. But it is now.
So we're just gonna...move on, and never, EVER, touch that passive again, lest it break.
