I play the game since it exists, its a great game.
Many cool mods, like Game of Thrones or Elder Scrolls and more.
If you still like it after a month I recommend to get the DLCs in a sale.

Try going to the grocery store and buying the discount food. In my area its usually food that expires tomorrow or the next day so you have to cook it very soon but you can sometimes get an entire meal for $1 - $2 that way.

@NeoFantasy I've played FF7 for the first time 20 years after its release, but only because I never owned a console nor was interested in JRPGs at the time.
The remake can be interesting, but I fear the real-time combats, as I prefer turn-based.

There are, to date, 4 Octopus Villagers available, including the amiibo one. I think that's the fewest out of any other species!

Fun fact: If you catch an Octopus from a fishing spot in front of that kind of Villager (or have one in your house while they visit), they'll be upset and let you know about it!

You could also play some demos and leave feedback. It doesn't take any real knowledge besides what you think works and what doesn't (and pointing out bugs), but it's really helpful to the devs.
