Can we all just please take a moment during this troubled holiday season to take a breath, stop blaming each other for the follies of human nature and acknowledge that there is more to life than abject survival and that there is nothing wrong with that?
After nigh on 6 months of 7 days a week, 10+ hour a day shifts I've taken a much needed vacation to crash at my brother's and visit family for Thanksgiving...It's 79 degrees at 6 AM on November 11th here. Now I remember why I moved so far away in the first place.
After wiring pretty much everything else imaginable together at one point or another I've finally decided to build my own PC for the first time. Tempered glass cases are neat and all...I don't understand the obsession with fans with rgb lights rigged to them that seem so prevalent with custom towers though.
My dog got attacked by another dog today and sprained his leg. Now he's high as a kite because apparently vets can prescribe what amounts to puppy Xanax in such situations, as well as a mild opiate. Seems a bit excessive in my opinion but at least he's limping along happy now.
"Alert, alert, there is nothing there. Wake up, there is nothing there. This is not a drill, there is nothing there. Oh hey, I see you're awake early on your day off, let's go for a run."~if dogs could talk.
How can a society function with an entire media establishment that is complicit in publishing partisan slander and easily disprovable lies right alongside each other with no accountability whatsoever? After I live through it, maybe I'll make a game based on it. The level of dishonesty at this point just astounds me though.
Had a soda for the first time in two months at my nephew's birthday party...it's amazing how once you are no longer addicted to soda, they actively taste like poison when you try to drink them. Couldn't even finish it.
Finally got a doctor to see my grandmother (through threats of litigation, sadly that's what it took) for a CT scan today. On the way home they called us and said to go to the ER immediately because she has a pulmonary embolism. Searing from both heat and rage in my car right now because they won't let me in with her, terrible, terrible day.
That feeling when you found a dead guy's coin collection being sold at an estate sale and after the fact you are torn by the feeling of outright stealing from them because the people obviously had no idea what what they were selling was worth, that just gets worse when you get home and realize some of the coins were worth a lot more than you thought they were at the time even.
My state just joined the thou must wear masks club...funny because masking yourself is also currently a misdemeanor crime. I know they've declared they aren't enforcing that, still, seems that you should really remove the law making something illegal before passing a mandate making it illegal not to do just that thing. This is why our judicial system is such a bloated mess.
The youtube algorithm introduces me to the weirdest stuff these days. Last week I got bardcore music (which is awesome by the way), this week it is gun metal covers. Stupid as it is, I can't stop listening either. Who thinks to do this, and why is it so euphoric to watch?
The sinking feeling when you realize your grandmother probably isn't long for this world, and the frustration when you know that this pandemic will take her away...not because she has Covid, but because no doctor is willing to see a patient to even run simple diagnostics anymore if one of her symptoms happens to be a recurring fever, even if her primary care physician gives her the test and it comes back negative.
Working on an important character's model today: Saken! One of Cyprian's friends from the Hofau school. There he is as a teen student on the left and as an adult Deputy Minister of Love on the right. He dyed his hair.
Going through alls the stats I have from my testplays. It is so interesting how most people got about the average expected results, but some have some very weird outlieing ones that I now have to try to understand.
