I'm curious, how many hours in RPG Maker do you have? I'm clocked in at 2100 hours on MV and the vast majority of it is for one game. I wish I could track how much I used XP back in the day, I was on it a lot.
Whew... I've been on a tear recently. Been working nonstop. Feels really good to be back in the groove! I think it's because I can finally see the end approaching. I only have 8 more side quests to develop (then NPCs, some art, then pretty much done).
Got a couple side quests done tonight. I have just over 20 left to program. I started with over 80 written down, trimmed it down to 55, and have just been plowing away at those this year.
Did so much work on the game today. I wish I could post it all in this status update but there is a character limit of course haha. I thought about making a topic for updates, though... maybe.
Progress on quests is definitely taking longer now than I'm working on more complex ones. I got all the easy ones out of the way first and have been working my way to the hard stuff. Still going strong though!
All the recruitable party members in my game are now finally recruitable! I've been using srdude's tester plugin to add them manually or doing it in the database up until now lol.
I unfortunately have to remove a feature from my game because it is causing far too much lag. I don't think it will necessarily be missed, though, and the removal of it will help performance a lot.
Found a critical bug the other day with the time system that would have caused none of the NPCs to spawn. Since I use dev mode to test time-based stuff, I didn't catch this for way too long!
I've been on a really good streak lately of working on my game for at least a little bit each day. Even if I only complete one small task, it is still a much better pace than what I was maintaining previously!
SEVEN YEARS I have been working on my game. Motivation is very hard to come by. It's coming along, though. I'm in the process of making side quests and then I'll just have to add some polish on top.
All of the treasure chests are now in my game and I'm placing enemy spawns now, which is way easier than I thought it would be. There will definitely be some balancing requirements but that's what betas are for.
Forgive my rudimentary video editing skills, thought I'd start sharing progress on my status posts as well. Here's the second character of my roster, Mǽlhafoc, the Ælven ranger.
And if you missed the first one many moons ago, here's Vilhelm, the tarnished knight.
Knocked through three more rough draft sprites. (A frog beast thing, a skeleton, and vampire bat) down to seven sprites and a thing more appropriately done as tiles.
