I'm thankful we haven't been invaded by the Roswell Greys. I don't want to look like a grey version of Slenderman.
The Last Of Us' ending... GOD DAMNIT.

Not the ending I would have wanted, but it did make me want to yell at the screen!

That ending is still bothering me... Dammit Joel...
Not participating in WoGaDeMo (formerly NaGaDeMo) this year because I'm working on Disney Infinite... kinda sad about that. Be nice to churn out another 30 day game for funsies. The DS RTP pack would be perfect for it.

Disney Infinite is one of the games I am looking forward to getting. My nieces and nephews are going to have a blast with it.

    Why the heck do they do something such as the WoGaDeMo during June. I mean, finals and exams.. ; ^ ;
If you think you have nothing more to learn, you will never grow or get better. If you think you have a lot to learn, and you're willing to put in the work, you'll accomplish amazing things.

Very true. "In the beginner's mind, there are many possibilities. In the expert's mind, there are few."
Working on enemy skills. Making boss battles more than just "Smash weakness repeatedly" is an interesting challenge. EVENTS ONLY WHOOOOO.

Indeed. I also find it a slight challenge to make bosses have the right amount of health. Too often bosses can drag on because devs give them tons of HP to make the fight feel 'epic.'

I am trying to do a similar thing, but as a combo, fight boss, have a event challenge, then fight boss again for the win.
Creating skill lists for monsters as well as designing boss encounters more elaborate than "smack the weakness."

Metal Gear Solid flip flops between taking itself seriously and breaking the fourth wall and using self-parodies.

I like Mother 3 because it takes itself seriously and, at the same time, it does not.

Kid Icarus made no attempt at a 4th wall but it was still one of the best stories of 2012, in my opinion.
When discussing your game's story in project threads, PLEASE keep it simple and to the point. I personally am not interested if the Kingdom of Randoko is under turmoil. Just tell me who the protagonist is and what their mission is. Keep it back of the box! If I want to know more I'll play your game. :x

I remember we had a conversation like this in your old "Game Pitch advice" thread, which unfortunately stirred a lot of animosity :<

Well needless to say I completely agree with you.

At the same time, you have to remember that a lot of places (this forum included) have word count limits for projects. Sometimes things are added to meet those limits, rather than the developer over-sharing information. :)

True. It's more that I'm disappointed when folks share the wrong information, instead of sharing stuff that is more interesting than pandering.
Yay, another article I wrote up on the RMWeb Blog! :D

Like I said, some folks like things that aren't consistent. But that's not the point. :p

Great article. You're a smart guy. I hope people listen to your advice. I see examples of what you mention not to do all the time, and I weep.
If you're a hobbyist, rock on and have fun. If you're bringing money into the picture, you must do your best to make the best damn game you can make and help break the stigma that RPG Maker is a crap engine. We can do great things, let's do this together.

Spending the day with a cold while I work on player and equipment stats (again). Once I'm done with today's workload going to curl up in bed and play Deus Ex until I pass out.

Just about finished I reckon.
This could probably be an entire thread, but it’s really interesting how replaying a game several years later can change how you relate to a character. I think Tidus from FFX got such a bad rap. I getchu. Completely different reaction as an adult now.
As you see, I still enjoy writing tutorials. Is there anything specific you want to see? (I know mapping and editing/resource making is usually popular, but those are very broad topics)
Well, I wanted to expand player battlers visually and now have 3 sheets and counting for each of my players party.
1. Regular sheet
2. The character has turned stone sheet.
3. Using potions sheet.

Technically the main hero has 4 since he starts with a wooden sword, and I felt that the battler should reflect that until he gets a metal one.

Right back to the RM game dev grind in about 15 minutes. :LZSexcite:
