  • It's weird when you are browsing steam games and recognize resources from the internet. Even if they are using photoshop filters to obscure the original stock picture. :))
    "We Don't need no CO2"

    Then 4 lines later:
     "...we plant the trees."

What? Who makes kids sing this kind ridiculousness? Can you imagine the cognitive dissonance when they find out they exhale CO2?

Cognitive dissonance isn't really a problem when you are taught to brand anyone who disagrees with you as an oppressive bigot. As long as you're disagreeing with a monster, it doesn't matter if you trample their rights in the name of expressing your own.

Well, planting more trees could remove some some excess carbon dioxide from the atmosphere. There is a lot of, let's say, nuance missing from that lyric. Never heard the song though. But, without at least some carbon dioxide in our atmosphere we'd be a ball of ice. Even though oxygen comes from the water portion of photosynthesis, the plant of course still needs carbon dioxide to get there. :p

Worst part is that in the night... trees also release CO2 :p

Well why not keep it in balance; "We don't need mechanically made CO2!"

Video Games could be really great teaching tools, but only if they keep the fun.  Game or not, something that is not fun will only be regarded as not fun.

ex: Oregon Trail was a really good game that people would even play outside of school.

The world is in desperate need of such a service right now, to many thin-skinned people that desperately need to be knocked on their butts a few times to bring them back into reality.

Lol, dragon...the night it happened I was literally thinking "Do I have a magnet small enough to get in there WITHOUT destroying the hard drive?" Turns out I don't have one small enough, but I manged to get the broken piece out with the broken head phone connect. I was going to put a small dot of glue on it, and hope it didn't glue itself on the inside. But before I dabbed the glue I stuck it in and pulled out the broken tip! I am extremely elated I don't have to rip open the laptop chasis and try to finagle the broken bit out. But I have to open the whole damn thing to add more RAM... POS acer.
Well...it's gone. 18 months of work and my first project and it's gone to a corrupt file. To everyone that played the demo and was waiting for more: I'm sorry. I am gonna have to go professional dev on this one and cancel the project. I have a couple of better games coming anyways. (I wish :D) Always back up your files, kiddies.

I may well go back to it, I have a bunch of notes about what I was doing and needed to do. It's just at this point, I am going to shelve it for later and focus on something a little more solid. Thanks for the encouragement! It always helps.

    Wow...it's been forever.

Logical thought finally set in, and I realized I don't really gain a lot from lurking here instead of working, so I have spent a bit of time WORKING on many aspects of my project. Even learning some Ruby! ;) how's life for you crazy folks?

Right on Sharm! It is really nice to make progress. I had a lot of progress on a website with Wix, but when I wanted to migrate it to a real host with a real domain, I found out I was SOL. Hopefully I can get my site online in 3 months or less.

Birthday bash game? is there a contest I am missing? Ah, Custom resources. I just picked up a tablet to translate my bad into bad digital art. :p

Not really a contest, more like a challenge with prizes.  I'd say check it out but it might be distracting.

It's all for the best man, everyone knows the path to peace involves disarming ourselves and selling weapons of mass destruction to our enemies as a peace offering. It'll all work out in the end. (seriously, how can so many anti-gun activist democrats support such a manipulative, greedy war-hawk?)
    Sausage_Boi
    Sausage_Boi
@Taarna an old (now dead) comedian, Bill Hicks, had a joke about that during the first Gulf War in Iraq. It was something like the US saying, "They have these super deadly weapons and they plan to use them.' The world says, "Oh yeah? how do you know that?" The US replies, "We sold em to them! We got the receipts right here! And we're gonna invade just as soon as the check clears the bank!"

@Amnell, I think they support Hildebeast because she pays lip service to their ideals, and most of the Repugs are outwardly Warmongers, where as she keeps her warmongering off camera.

I feel like the path to peace involves keeping our bombs locked up here at home, and not loosing them on Abdullah's grandma or some random Wedding Party. It might also help if the drone pilots didn't fly back and obliterate the first responders.

@taarna23 Oh we go well beyond that. If it wasn't for American 'donations' of firepower and guerrilla Warfare 101 classes to support rebel groups overseas that had nothing to do with us, Al qaeda wouldn't be a thing today. If Secretary Clinton hadn't been so busy arming rebels in Libya ISIS wouldn't have had the overwhelming firepower they've used to march roughshod through Iraq and Syria; murdering, raping and destroying everywhere they go while commandeering the American support assets laid down for the natives to use to defend themselves, most often without so much as a skirmish before surrender.

Not to mention the fact that ISIS makes the majority of it's warchest selling oil to America because we're so concerned about the environment that we'd rather buy it cheap from them than frack our own oil-rich shores...you know, forget politics, if we don't seriously reform our entire government structure really soon America is dead, likely leaving behind a hated legacy of instigating the worst violence the middle east has seen since the heart of the crusades as it's legacy.

@Philtered Khaos: but she hasn't been able to keep her warmongering off Camera any longer, and it makes Lyndon Johnson look like an honest treehugger by comparison.
Trolls? Or a grim prophecy of our cruel fate? From Amazon's Lumberyard TOU:

The Lumberyard Materials are not intended for use with life-critical or safety-critical systems, such as use in operation of medical equipment, automated transportation systems, autonomous vehicles, aircraft or air traffic control, nuclear facilities, manned spacecraft, or military use in connection with live combat. HA! Go Amazon. I think the first part has some seriousness, what with a HECK of a lot of things becoming part of the Internet of Things, but the last part is either pure humour gold in an otherwise colourless agreement, or someone in Amazon Legal actually things the zombie apocalypse is coming.
I was trying really hard to have a demo ready a week ago...

Then I got caught up in a whirlwind of inspiration and added a whole lot more content. I swear I will finish it, soon!

    ×So...much...vote...FRAAAAAUUUUUD! Good luck!
    Alexander Amnell

Meh, people get caught committing voter fraud every election cycle. It's not a new thing, but until the nation stops being so damned polarized it'll keep being brushed off as 'baseless accusations of the opposition', definitive proof isn't near enough to change that. Sort of like how high officials in our government can steal data from secured and SEALED servers, ship it over seas and get 'donations' from those overseas interests and get off scott free even while that information becomes definitive public knowledge; because those prescribing to the ideological side of the accused won't hear of anything negative that cannot be lain at the feet of their 'opponents'.

American politics isn't a matter of conservative/Capitalist vs. Democrat/socialist right now so much as it is a fight between us (the people) vs them (the government), unless we start realizing this, we'll all just keep 'voting in' ineffective liars on both sides and then scratch our heads/blame the mess our 'choice' was left with by his predecessor as the country continues to be bled dry until one day the banks all close down and we find ourselves like Argentina in the late 90s while the 'leaders' of both parties hunker down somewhere safe and enjoy their nesteggs of wealth and prestige while watching the rest of us destroy each other over their selfish betrayals.

Well, the 2 most popular candidates are both alleging fraud, and one of them is bound to file a lawsuit. Remember the year 2000 when Bush and Gore were running? I smell a bigger pile being dumped on us...

There is no compromise anymore and it probably isn't going to change anytime soon. It's hard to read the news these days almost no good news and we all know there are lots of people doing positive things.
I'm just gonna call "BS" and wait for the lawsuits to fly...

I wish people cared more about the government of there country.

This will be forgotten in two weeks and then swept under the rug (if the US is anything to go by).

It is amazing how everyone talks about an awful tragic event (or controversial issue) the day it occurs,  but forgets about it in a week til a similar situation happens again (and then the cycle repeats).

If all the people who keep talking about how there vote "does not matter" suddenly voted, then there vote would matter.  But nobody wants to take the first step.

It was said in Doctor Who that forgetting is the human superpower. There's truth to that. I think we're geared to forget the bad things because we need to in order to keep moving, and there are a lot of people that will take advantage of that fact.
