  • One of the suggestions I was given; the possibility to create "outfits" for character generation. Here we go; in the next release, you can save parts of a character as sets. Then, you can add sets to your current character, like this for example:

    I managed to improve the gradient creations in my extended generator. As before, you can always use photoshop or something and import a gradient file, but the generator will allow you to generate gradients with more options than before. All of this will be available in the incoming release of course.
    Not sure about RPG Maker MZ ; We see a lot of things, but they could have enhanced a lot of things in MV first... We're at the era of updates nowadays, not new products over and over and over :/

    So likes games they try to make a new version every few years using the budget of MV sales.
    Also remind you the QT Engine Licenses is over 3k$ (a year) PER user to maintain for updating.
    so not really the 'update' era wouldn't work for rpg maker it would mean the engine cause budget deficit and would be abandoned by kadokawa.

    I'm honestly glad to see a fresh engine. I wish MV wasn't left as broken still at least one last stability update for the engine itself so it stops crashing in the database lol But I'm all for buying a new product if they can make it better from the ground up it sounds like they got a dedicated method now of keep the core scripts updated for projects.

    Subscription base would turn me off big time, as to me most companies see that as a lazy excuse to get greedy and drip feed content out when they please.
    The good thing with Covid-19 : I can remotely work on my job while getting progress on my game. Hail the ability of multitasking :D

    Being able to stay to MV version 1.5.1 is great; or else I would have had to change too many plugins and code in my game >.>

    The main issue is, compared to previous versions, that we cannot keep our old files because the playtest won't even start as long as we don't update. In my case, my files are from version 1.2 or 1.3, updating would bring too many changes.

    I'll try to check with another computer what exactly changed, to see if I can keep my old files and only alter what is required for playtesting.

    I will wait a bit to fully jump to MV for that. But I forgot that since MV is to be used on the web the patches will never be over.

    Oh that might be interesting! Kinda like a windy hard to control race against the wind and some action and puzzle and race at the same time in your map then to not get washed out with dirt?

    It was nothing complicated ^^ Only according to the direction of the wind and the character, a debuff of strength 1-3 would be applied. The wind changes direction, and taking covers behind rock help to remove the debuff. The debuff reduce speed and accuracy, hence making hard to fight monsters if we're facing the wind.

    NICE! :D Ever seen Operation Condor with Jackie Chan? It reminds me a wee bit of that with all desrty windy complications. ^^
    Extended MV Generator version 0.08 released. It mostly fixes the incorrect importation of MV's elf ears and add a few things, an easy mode.

So I just spent the weekend...playing my own game. The one I released last year. Yep you heard that right.
Goal for MZ? None... I'm still curious how to finish my VXA project and how it looks like when it actually finished. Which will take at least another two years. Coming late again to the party.
Finding it amusing that people are posting support questions in new threads for an engine that isn't even released yet. Touch and Archeia are the only ones authorised to say anything, and there's only one active thread where they'll be answering questions.
I think my goal for MZ ... is to actually release a game and not have twenty technical demos and debugging projects. Let's see if I can manage that. ;o
I am starting to enjoy writing. I never thought I would enjoy it since my dyslexia was holding me back so much.
