  • For those of you curious, you can transfer map files from MV to MZ, however, keep in mind that MV's tileset is different and the results will be messy unless the tileset is the same.
Computer memory was wiped with no way to recover it. Thankfully, literally the only thing I backed up beforehand was my RPG Maker games, so life can continue.
I made a game for the mini-game contest, but I was too late in completing it before the deadline. Best place in the forums to post really short games?

Same place where you'd post really long games :) Completed Games, if it's completed.

I also finished a game jam game, I had to stay up until 12 last night to finish it. Submissions closed at 2am. My game finished uploading at 1:30 am so just at the nick of time. I would like to check out your jam game once you put it in the Completed games section,

It looks very awesome! Always wanted to try making a game like that in RPG Maker. Now I don't need to :D
Just finished my last update for my old game. Just submitted the game page for my new game. Anticipation is real.
When you set out to simplify a popular game mechanic, but that turned out to be too complex so the end results is even more simple. :MV4:
Finished LOH: Trails of Cold Steel 1. Took 67 hours. I started the game in December... 2015.

That sounds like me and Trails in the Sky 2. I'm still in Chapter 7 of that game. Doesn't help though that the game is a slow plod to nothingville. Is Trails of Cold Steel better?
Debating on just creating an entirely new thread for an older game I made since I rebuilt it from the ground up...

Does the game have the same title?
If it's the same title, it could be good to ask an administrator, to be sure you're allowed to post a new thread, and perhaps lock the old one?

Problem is, it's not a remaster. Just a very different structure, replaced story, changes in character motivations, and expanded dungeon... along with other changes.
The name is still the same at the moment, so I guess I'll take that to the mods when I have a demo ready.

It's a tough decision but perhaps others have been through this before. I don't know what section this discussion would belong to, if you want to get more feedback. But mods will usually move the topic to the appropriate place, so it's an option to talk about it in the forums if you ever want to.
Good Idea: Chrono Trigger on PC. Bad Idea: Making it a port of the mobile version of the game.

    Influential definitely.
Chrono Trigger is the oldest rpg I can think of that begins with the hero waking up & talking to his mom.
That scenario is extremely cliché now, but I *think* CT was the first one to do that.

@TheMutantSpaceDancer It even has a small dancing "competition" in it. They included that just for you. :p

@Seacliff, honestly it is 4th on my favorite RPGs of the era even. But that is because there were a LOT of great RPGs that era. (Phantasy Star IV, Dragon Quest V, Shining Force II are my top 3).

From a modern gameplay standpoint though, Chrono Trigger has aged fairly well, having had on screen enemies and the graphics were easily the best of those 4 games.

    ah sweet, dance mode
:MV3:When your strategy heavily relies on a status effect, and after the tenth try you finally got the enemy inflicted.
I broke my favorite Gameboy Game: Link's Awakening. At least I was able to salvage the battery...

Aw that sucks. You can buy Links Awakening DX on the 3DS's Nintendo E-Shop if you need to

I had it there for a while. There are just times when I rather play a game on it's OG hardware.
But If I want to continue doing that without going bankrupt, I need to be more careful. Thankfully, Link's Awakening isn't an expensive game to find a replacement for.

Mega Man 11 announced. Watch it be better than Mighty Number 9.

Maybe. Capcom's really good at being jerks to their fans and, as much as I love retro, the original MM is in serious need of an update that it's unlikely to get. I'm not talking graphical or anything, just something that builds on the gameplay in some interesting way.

I think it's a good move on Capcom's part to bring back our favorite blue bomber, but I'm not optimistic that it means anything.

I mean, it's kinda hard NOT to be better than Might Number 9. I mean, even the new Bubsy game was kinda better than it.
Finally got a PS4. Just watch them announce the PS5 next year to undermine my purchase. :p
Sonic Mania was fantastic. Don't know why it took them 20 years just to make such a simple and fun Sonic game though.

Agreed. It was the exact opposite problem with New Super Mario Bros.

They kept on hoping around trying out different mechanics, but never really stopped to improve anything that had potential. When something new got rightfully criticized, they would rather ditch the mechanic than improve it.

@Bricabrac I know. I have been a fan of Whitehead ever since his Sonic CD port. And I heard before the guys behind Sonic 2 HD were in charge of the level design.

Though, I might check out the video anyways. I doubt I know everything about the game's development.
I used to know this, but where on this site should I post a question related to resource licensing?
