I was offered a great job, and turned it down when my current employer matched their offer. My teammate, who was a reference for me, then applied for the same job and got it, and accepted. Now I think that company hates me (for turning them down), and my current company hates me (for encouraging my teammate to apply - though they don't really know I did).
So hubby and I bought a couple of wireless bluetooth headsets (I prefer wired, but our cat likes to eat headphone cables ... and mouse cables, keyboard cables, phone charges, iPad chargers ... you get the picture). Got home as shops were closing, only to discover neither of us has a bluetooth-enabled computer.

So you get an amazing job offer from another company, and in order to keep you, your company has to match it ... which means giving you an increase much higher than you originally requested.
I have been dying for a weekend when I didn't have to do anything, so I could do the last of my unpacking, clean my "office" and set up all my sewing stuff. Now that I finally have one, I actually don't want to do anything.
Worked until 8 last night, then stayed up until a bit after midnight watching NCIS. It was the moment I went to bed that my cat decided was the best time to wake up, then spent the next 3 hours prowling around the house with his pitiful meow/howling. I'm not exhausted AT ALL now!

Me: IF I can give my other work to someone else AND don't run into any issues AND I rush, I MIGHT be able to make it next Wednesday

So, I got let go from my current job because my skill set didn't align with the department's goals anymore. I have some hope, because I am currently in contact with a manager from a different department, and they are desperate for more employees. We'll see what happens...
