Signed a lease on a new place today. Back into town, closer to shops, family and takeaway - none of those could be a good thing! 10 days to moving date.

To be fair, moving home is stressful, even if everything goes smoothly on a physical level (no misisng stuff, move in on the date without any problems, etc), there's still the mental aspect of being a strange environment. It's your house in a legal sense, but it won't feel like your home for a while. I mean, I even have problems sleeping in hotels because it doesn't feel like my space.

Moving is a chore, but it can be great. A chance to recreate your sanctuary closer to your ideal image, a new backdrop for your local adventures, and you said closer to shops! Congratulations Shaz!

You KNOW it's gonna be a long day when it takes you 5 minutes to realize the reason your VX script is crashing is because you're coding in Javascript!

Lost 6 hours when starting out because I didn't capitalize Math. Not only was this before I discovered VisualStudio Code (godsend and a half, I tell you), but it was using custom code in a notebox in a VS plugin. I got used to VisualBasic's IDE holding my hand the whole time and had never encountered the "misplaced comma" issue until then.

I am really bad, no, I suck at scripting, so I try to do most things with events, and sometimes, yes, sometimes they work like a charm.
    I'm a eventing MASTER, hahahahhaaaa.
    Shaz
    Shaz
I think it's good to try and do things via events. Being able to script can make me a bit lazy - I should probably look for eventing solutions for things more than I do.

Why do you keep closing threads after 30 days? :(

Not very handy for new users (like me) who try to find something.

The thread you posted in was answered - 5 years ago. And the new question you added to it was also answered - by me, 5 years ago, immediately before your new post.

But in answer to your question, we do it to keep the forum organized. Something that was correct 5 years ago might not be correct today because engines get updated. People who asked questions that weren't answered even a month ago might have gotten their answers elsewhere - if they didn't, they should come back and bump their post.

The MV script calls spreadsheet is super helpful. There are a few tips and tricks in the other tab sheets, but it could be even better if there were maybe links to some of the tutorials on this forum.
So who would use a VX to MV converter? Keeping in mind that MV files can mostly just be copied into MZ and they'll work.
The Amazing Race Australia finale is on tonight. Hope Masterchef will be starting again soon. They're the only things we bother watching on tv, though I suspect I'm getting hooked on NCIS again. Anyone else watch these shows? We don't have netflix or foxtel.

If you like Masterchef, Shaz, then on netflix you have a show called: The Final Table. I think you'll find this interesting.

I now read that you don't have netflix in the title, lol, I stopped reading at Masterchef...
I also like NCIS, now, gibbs, I would work for a boss like him, he's awesome.
My preference does go to the older series with Ziva and Tony.
And that weird lady with the black hair.... the scientist. (Abby/ Ally, can't remember).
    She's great too.
House hunting (rental) is tough! First 2 places we wanted to view were already leased when I rang to arrange a time! Maybe today will be third time lucky ... having 3 indoor cats severely limits the options.

I thank my lucky stars that we were able to rent a house from my in-laws, makes life significantly easier. I wouldn't want to go back to renting regularly, so you have my utmost sympathy. Hope you get a place that's perfect for you and the cattos!

We rented a house from in-laws a couple of years ago. We moved from a house we really liked, as a favour to the family. But they were the most difficult and fussy landlords we've ever had.
Aww crumbs! Just got an email from our property manager saying the owner of our home is planning to sell and our lease isn't being renewed. We really like where we are and were planning to stay here for another few years yet :(

When someone helps you solve a problem, it's good to report the thread so it can be closed, but it's also nice to go back and post in the thread to let them know their suggestion actually worked. And, you know, to say thanks for helping.

Cows are awesome! I much prefer cows to horses. Well, the lady with the kittens changed her mind, so we'll have to wait a bit longer now. Our team has over 100 kittens in care at the moment. Won't be long before more come in.

It is nice to have job security. I took the last two months off to vacation back in my home state, the day after I got back and called my old boss to tell him I was back and see if he still had a job for me his immediate response was to proclaim "thank god!".

That's so funny - that's exactly what a couple of my co-workers said when I returned, and I'd only been gone for a week! In my case though, an urgent support ticket had come through about something I worked on a few months ago and nobody else in the team knew anything about. So they just wanted someone else to throw the "hot potato" to, and I was the obvious candidate. :D
Back from a lovely vacation - wallabies with joeys in their pouches at our back deck every day. For some light reading, I took my JavaScript Definitive Guide (figured I'd learn it properly after 4 years of making plugins). I made it 10% of the way through the 1000 pages. Riveting!

Youtube's definitely quite the teacher. Honestly I've been considering delving into deeper JS stuff so that I can better understand JS workers, and how better to utilize PIXI along with potentially Babylon. Of course what keeps me from doing that is well... I want to finish my game someday, and what I just described is the opposite of doing that. :LZSwink:

Just don't sign up for any Zenva courses. Part of their signup agreement is sharing your information with their "partners". Usually means you get forwarded some stuff they're trying to sell you on behalf of said partners. In this case? They sign you up with all manner of junk email. They'll even give you a fake first/last name if you haven't filled out your profile yet. Apparently I am Leah Axon. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I feel like banging my head against a wall every time I want to find that post that shows all the plugin header codes. Then I think "next time I find it, I'm going to bookmark it". Then I think "wait a minute ... maybe I bookmarked it last time because it took me so long to find it". Check bookmarks, and there it is :)

    ImaginaryVillain
    ImaginaryVillain
Probably fair, but hey at least you'd always remember to check it... Sure it would probably be too full, and you'd miss what you're looking for. However then you could have the fun of doing that, then trying to find it manually, then realizing you did in fact bookmark it, then returning to your "Shaz check this" folder and finding it. See plus one step, isn't that exciting? =D

@taarna23's status just made me realise I haven't had any scam calls since that guy who hung up on me before he even began reading his script. How quiet it's been ... they were pretty much the only people who ever called!

My Google phone (Pixel) automatically screens any incoming call it believes to be probably spam rather than ringing, and it has been pretty damn accurate so far. If there's actually someone on the other end (this has happened three times in two years), they're allowed to say why they're calling and it will just appear as text on my screen without disturbing me. It's pretty cool tech.
    Shaz
    Shaz
wow, that's impressive! I know it's likely to be a scam caller if the number is interstate, or if it's a private number. But I have to still answer the private number ones, 'cause it could be my mother :D
