  • Tomorrow I will be getting FIVE foster kitties - all ragdoll cross! Three of them will be going to another carer later. But for a few hours, I'll have five to cuddle! I wonder how my 3 adult cats are going to cope with this ...

@Dalph we've been fostering for about 18 months now. I was very unsure how ours would react at first. The female is very no-nonsense. So we went really slowly at first. They have all been awesome. Our big male, who was also a rescue (from family) is incredibly affectionate and caring towards all the kitties we get.

Our "youngest" is a 5 year old pure ragdoll, and he doesn't have a lot of patience with the kitties we bring home. I'm very interested to see if the next lot being the same breed as him triggers any different reaction. Probably not :D

All these people getting new computers. My brother builds them for a living, so I got him to quote me on a low-end gaming machine. Now I just have to get the money for him to build it. Hubby is jealous :)
When you spend 6 hours trying to get a 40-line script to work, and when it finally works you realise the problem was that you had a dot in some variable names.

I've been redrawing my entire game in just particles. I no longer remember what the bitmap was like... I've gone full particle native. :kaoback:

I had this problem with like, Victor's Materia Engine for VX Ace. If a player character left the party for a cutscene, the materia they had went with them disappeared which actually bothered me so much that I spent a solid week figuring it out. Then I realized the problem code was one tiny line, snipped it and everything is fine. :|

Hey there! Wanted to thank you for suggesting the RPG Maker MV resources! I confused pixel art with painted assets and, in the end, I think painted assets will look much better on my game. I ended up buying First Seed Material's packs  Thank you! Have a great day!
For the last freaking time, Yanfly set aside funds to pay people to update his plugins for new versions of the engine. Can everyone please get over the "no more Yanfly plugins" drama now?
    Shaz
    Shaz
Other plugin creators aren't going to make Yanfly's plugins, and a ridiculously large number of people depended on them. Just look at any "what plugins should I use?" thread and it'll only be a few posts before you see someone advise "just install all the Yanfly plugins"

And it's not so much a recognition thing for other coders. It's just the volume of plugins and anyone who wanted to make theirs compatible had to be aware of and understand all of them. I just don't have the time, and if my saying "I will not provide compatibility patches" means fewer people use mine, so be it. I also don't aim for mine to be compatible with Moghunter's.

I just don't make public plugins. It isn't for everyone. I've made a few for people on request, but mostly I just make my them for me, and answer what questions I can when others are building theirs. The whole Yanfly MV era had weird, unintended side effects on the public plugin community for sure, but it'll settle down and figure itself out soon.
Walked away from my computer to get changed. Came back to find my 2 foster kitties playing on my desk/keyboard. They had dimmed my screen, disconnected my wi-fi, turned on airplane mode, and attempted to download something from the forum. I'm sure there are more surprises in store.
Wanted to watch a movie, but hubby said it's 3 hours long and would run too late. So we didn't. Then he came in an hour later, "do you want to watch a movie?"

I had to preorder. Even though their website said they had them in stock, when I asked, they only had them for customers who had preordered. $450 but no games afaik. On the phone they said "we don't know when our next order will arrive" but in person it was "we're getting a delivery about every 2 weeks". So hopefully by the end of this week ...

Binge-watching bread making on youtube. Wish it wasn't 4pm Sunday afternoon - now I have to wait a week to make anything!

Making your own bread is pretty easy. Some tips (you might already know) :
    - have patience! Really the most important thing xD
    - cover your hands in a bit of flower before kneading to prevent a sticky mess
-when kneading use the palm of your hands not your fingers.

Anyway that's it from captain obvious lol

So ... uh ... this weekend I have to cut my husband's hair. He searched long and hard - highest mountains, deepest valleys, across vast oceans. All hairdressers are now closed. So it's me.

Doh, don't worry. Now that we're all shut-ins waiting for the apocalypse to take us all. You'll get plenty of time to practice, and who knows maybe you can buy a new chair/stool from a friendly wandering merchant. How many bottle caps is one of those these days?

I don't think merchants would wander too far (or be too friendly) if they had to cart chairs or stools around with them everywhere.

They'll use pack Brahmin to lug it around, or whatever the equivalent is there. I'm imagining a two headed "Big Red Roo". I'd call it a Roomin... but someone might try and eat it. No! Bad crazed Wasterlanders, Roomin is not food! No! No eat! :kaolivid:

Social distancing is great, apart from trying to work from home while the guy up the road now has ample time and apparently the only way to fill it is to ride his dirt bike up and down our street all day :(

Well, in our country people are more mindful of others, even on the roads. I can't say I've ever seen people so willing to let pedestrians through as they are now.
If you post asking for help, and half a dozen people try to help you, it would be nice for you to come back and say what the solution was before having your thread closed. And maybe say thanks.

haha - okay, to rephrase, if they post a question and they don't keep bumping, we assume they no longer need an answer :p
Hubby has been a stay-at-home dad for over 10 years. Finally got a (casual) job again at the start of March, began his training. Today, work says "we're concerned about social distancing. Don't call us, we'll call you." That one pay was nice.
Internet down 3 times in 3 weeks. NBN tech discovered we'd been hooked up to a faulty node. After fixing, our speed is now 4 times what we've been on for the last 13 months!

Brave's pretty good, recently I switched to just using Linux (Mint), the default browser turned out to be Firefox, and I've kind of been too lazy to look for alternatives yet. But I've got a whole lot of add-ons setup to make it difficult to track me, and of course by switching to Linux I removed that spyware/virus that is Windows 10. :LZSwink:

@ImaginaryVillain On the "dark web", also called darknet, sites outside of it are referred to being clearnet sites. The term is often used to warn other darknet users that a link will direct them to a clearnet site.

Makes sense really, I mean if you're really that desperate to stay anonymous, it probably doesn't help to load up Youtube... Not that Youtube actually works with Tor, since it disables 90% of the stuff that makes Youtube function. Honestly I just found the whole dark web boring, reminds me of the regular web but with less features.
