  • Sorta learning Javascript at codeacademy for (obvious) reasons... this is going to be quite the process, I can tell, as I've been stumped by if/else statements twice already.

Trying to learn it for web development but it will be nice if it translates to RPGMMV as well. I'm in the same boat! I can't seem to grasp the semicolons when to use them when not, it seems to be what causes all my errors. I am used to PHP which is much more lenient I am finding.

Semicolons and commas will be the end of me.

Yeah, I'm planning on possibly making scripts for MV when it's released, so i'm learning about Javascript beforehand :v

Ooo, i've never heard of PHP before.
The reason I cant get RPG stuff done is because I can gain enough inspiration to start a new project from a small rock
Juuust spending part of the day making references... for twelve characters. Luckily they're 'chibi'-sized references.

It depends on what rank they were before the elder brother became King and whether or not the younger brother is the heir.

For instance...let's assume that the elder brother (uncle) was Duke of Aland, the younger brother was Duke of Beeland, and the son was Count of Whatsit. The elder brother is now His Royal Highness, King of Landistan. His younger brother would be Duke Bro of Beeland; unless he is named as heir, then he might be called Prince Bro. The son would still just be Cou...

I think the word limit cut me off...

The son would still just be Count Broson of Whatsit.

    Oh, alright.

Thanks Palladin and Jutsu! I had no idea how to ask a question like that on google.

Now I'll just decide whether the younger brother will be named as heir or not :>
Happy days for me :p Yesterday I got my permit and today i successfully edited a script(my idea couldve been done in seconds by anyone else) and figured out SAI's smooth line/resolution 'trick'

Making the prince's room... and knowing that I'll have to map out the entire castle interior... and the entire exterior... and the CASTLE TOWN HELP ME

A fantasy setting with massively destructive magic and monsters as big as skyscrapers kind of reinforces the whole "castles built for defense" idea instead of "castles built for extravagance". I mean... in a fantasy setting, we're talking nuclear bombs at your fingertips. More dangerous that medieval settings, ha ha.

True, but mere stone couldn't stop such no matter how thick. The magic or super-science enhancing them might just allow for some extravagance. :p

Well, I'd at least invent some kind of counter-measures to fingertip flinging nuclear bombs and Godzilla wildlife. Even if all that entailed was towers around the city that put up magical force fields powered by the blood of sheep. You'd still want the utilitarian approach. Extravagant cities are only those that don't ever have to defend themselves.
thinking about where the king's castle is... how does a "forest castle" sound? :/

To be honest building a castle in a middle of a forest sounds really counter productive... I mean the castles are always close to the peasants / workers and I can't imagine a king without those, they living in a forest sounds weird. A bandit king castle? Probably, maybe an elven one... but doesn't work too well for normal human kings I'm afraid.
    Shuruzy
    Shuruzy
Yeah, the king is elven, but I dunno, i might make it a normal castle in the end

Hey... If I have a prince, and his father(king) marries a lady(to be queen) who already has a daughter, would that daughter(now the prince's step sister)be classed as princess?
    Shuruzy
    Shuruzy
Whoops... I forgot the word "lady" was a ranking, and was just using it as a synonym to "woman"... I think the main point got across, though. Im guessing you mean the daughter would just be at 'lady' rank, right?
    Sharm
    Sharm
I think children of other ranks are usually called "lord" or "lady" until they inherit their parent's title unless they're descended from a king or duke or other ruling titles in which case they're called "prince" and "princess" but I'm not positive about that one.
    Sharm

So yes, if the mother is a lady then that would also be what the daughter would be called.
*sigh* I've been out for a while playing etrian mystery dungeon... Actually I'm still out. Later.
I dunno about you guys, but i'm bready to go. I mean, this change happened when I yeast expected it, but I loaf it. Others are a bit crumby about it, though.(Forum, you have unleashed my true powers.)

Up to 40,000,000 people just became felons by bureaucratic decree today in the US. If you own certain configurations of plastic and velcro, best make sure you aren't risking 10 years behind bars. Just had to take back my mom's mothers day gift from three years ago. Fun times, thanks unelected bureaucrats.
Someone please post some beginner problems so I can act like I'm a veteran and know what I'm doing? (Also someone please stop @Andar and @ATT_Turan from posting on them because they are way too fast?!)
Random reminder to work on yo games! Good day.
