I am a complete fool. I went through the trouble of making a clone sprite and setting up a system to have the characters flash, when it turns out - I never noticed that the "._mainSprite" was the actual bitmap being used. I'm happy since that makes compatibility easier, but I also want to scream.
I finally did an array, though I think it needs work. I had it add a bunch of states passively. Except I put death in the array by mistake, so the second I hit new game the screen instantly went to game over. Is that what it's like to play dark souls?
I moved back to MV awhile ago, having effekseer, mz, and clip paint was turning my laptop fan into an attack helicopter. But I did learn some tricks so it wasn't a waste. Just wish I would have bought it for steam though in case I got a new comp.
My new 49" monitor has been dispatched from the warehouse. Will it arrive tomorrow? The day after? I love that we can track packages now, even if it does only tell me when it's left that end and when it's arrived at the local centre. As long as it doesn't end up in Melbourne again, which has happened before ...
Me, designing it a long time ago: Having an optional boss fight as a random chance to trigger when you fish in a certain spot with a certain type of bait is fun! Cool idea!
