    Taking a Python class and tonight's lecture is on loops. Instructor mentions flag variables that tell the loop when to stop running.

    I got stuck today, gave up and worked on my game. Haha!
    Are the default-size "chibi" sprites really a bad thing for a project? I'm not planning to sell my game anyway but I was wondering if they were as hated as some videos seem to claim...

    The only thing I would change is making them even smaller on the overworld map XD
    I swear I saw a plugin somewhere that does that but I can't find it anymore

    Tbh i like rtp a lot, and MV chibis is what drew me into it, if anyone ever tried to draw a sprite or an sv battler they would realize the amount of work and detail these sprites have in comparison to other "srs spritez" out there, i would slap whoever hates MV sprites just because "chibi bad" and cant actually draw better :kaoangry:
    I don't even know if I'm going to USE all these maps in my game, I just like making maps...

    Then you have never seen parallax mapping done right I guess . Not saying Every game needs IT and it sure adds a lot of time investment but it can surely make a huge difference if done right

    @Finnuval it's entirely possible I haven't seen it done right, haha!! Do you have some examples I can look at that illustrate the difference?

    Still early in development but feel like I'm hitting a wall. Either I can't find plugins to do what I need, or they're paywalled :/

    Unfortunately, for unique behaviours you need to either make it yourself or be willing to pay because a paywall scares people off and makes it less common. You want that, to differentiate your game.

    I'm just trying to solve a few GUI/menu things - a way to display more text in the profile portion of the status menu, an encyclopedia-type thing for NPCs, maybe... Maybe I'm just not looking in the right place?

    It's possible that it has been made already, and you can look. But you might need to pay for it. And you might also not get exactly what you want. Things that seem simple can be rather difficult to code, and can take hours.

welp, I literally can't continue working on ALEX now that my MZ trial is up (unless I somehow place in the jam which I don't remotely deserve to for my unfinished crap) so I am back on my bullshit
some test stuff. Empty for now. My other project (this project) needs more attention. The lagging really kicks up when I try to capture gameplay. ✨
